A/N: So Gormaru Island made a comment made a comment on the situation regarding Godzilla vs Kong being pushed back later next year. So of course, all the bold words are his words.

"Godzilla & KSI were both critical and commercial successes, the leading films of the MonsterVerse franchise and the stunning proof that the MonsterVerse was a verified franchise, one that was successful, one that exhibited the potential to withstand a Comic-book dominated market

Then arrived the highly anticipated KOTM, the 3rd MV film, the film that carried the potential to fully solidify the franchise as a Legendary-Entertainment powerhouse property, years later it finally came, & while fan-beloved, unfortunately it was a commercial disappointment.

And now, in 2020, the fourth installment of the MonsterVerse, #GodzillavsKong , once slated for March 2020, has been delayed for 8-months to November. And that's a good thing.

#GodzillavsKong being delayed is a saving grace, it gives WB & Legendary not only time to craft the best must-see event possible, but also gives them the chance to bring back what both #GODZILLA and KSI had, but KOTM had jump the gun too soon to get straight to the action: Story.

GODZILLA and KSI prioritized having a well constructed story first, and delivering a spectacle-event second, usually by establishing an emotional core within a high-stake conflict that not only kept the story glued with emotional investment, but also elevated the film's spectacle

With G14 it was Joe Brody and his desire(& failing) to bring to light whatever horrific forces killed his wife & ruined his family, to get justice. To which, in a sense, would be passed on to Ford, who was fighting to make sure that the same ruin wouldn't fall onto his family

In KSI, the emotional core is marooned Hank Marlow, who after fighting through the Hell known as WWII, is stranded on an island of horrors, and all that's been keeping him going, was the enemy he made brother, the thought that someday, someone will find him, & take him back home

KOTM's story had a core that was serviceable but it needed stronger storytelling, as in a tighter focused story, and outside of Serizawa & Mark, it didn't have a strong enough emotional narrative to birth a gluing investment that could give added weight to the film's spectacle

#GodzillavsKong will have to bring back the 'story' in order to find its success, and the delay to November 2020 can help find their way and deliver the "A+ movie" that they are aiming to achieve.

#GodzillavsKong will be released 2-weeks after Marvel's Eternals, a marvel property that isn't well known to GAs, and has had mixed publication success. Nov 25th 2020, GVK will collide against Raya & The Last Dragon, an original animated Disney film."

While it is good for them to push back the film to improve the story (even if I don't necessarily agree with the comments on KOTM lacking Story) I do need to bring up the comment about The Eternals.

While the Eternals aren't exactly well known by General Audiences, if we go back to 2014, The Guardians of The Galaxy weren't too well known by General Audiences either until their film came out and now look at them. Not saying the same is going to happen with the Eternals, it's just a possibility.

As for Raya and The Last Dragon. Hardly anything for that is out yet, but even so, it's the animated films that always draw the crowd in the most.

I'm not hoping either The Eternals or Raya to fail since that would be kinda petty. I'm just hoping that Godzilla vs Kong is able to do well this time around so the Monsterverse can continue.
