My alarm went off at exactly 5:15.
I was dreading my first day of public school. I tried to tell my mom that I was doing so well being homeschooled, but she insisted that I socialize with new people in a new environment.
As much as I didn't want to go, I knew it was the right thing to do. I sat up in bed and went into the bathroom.
After taking a quick shower, brushing my teeth, straightening my hair, and doing my makeup, it was already 6:12.
"Shit." I whispered under my breath. I had to leave at 6:25 and I still needed to eat.
I ran downstairs and grabbed a plastic bag and filled it with Fruit Loops. I grabbed my purse and backpack filled with a notebook, pencil case, and a binder. I stuffed the Fruit Loops in my purse.
Just as I was about to walk out of the door, I heard my mom call me from the living room.
"Honey? Aren't you going to say goodbye to me?" she said still looking at the T.V.
I sighed and have her a quick hug and kiss on the head. "Have a great first day!" she said.
Hopefully I would have a great day.
