Anastasia's POV

I woke up the next morning with the summer sun shining bright. I sat in bed for a minute to wake up some and headed to my en-suite bathroom and brushed my teeth, brushed my hair and put it in a high ponytail, then headed downstairs for a snack before my run. I grabbed a mega sized blueberry muffin and chomped on it as I got a bottle of water. After finishing the muffin and downing the water I grabbed an extra for the road and headed outside, locking the door on my way out.

     Although there's already morning border patrol I ran the border in my human form three times before finding a big oak and striping my clothes off to shift. I folded them and set them behind it so no one would see and began my shift. I could feel Luna coming to the surface and pushing through my physical barriers, changing me into her. My hands becoming large paws, my face contouring into a snout and my spine re-aligning. My vision just as sharp and my sense of smell heightened. I shook my fur once and started my mission.

    Luna let me take the reigns for now, she knows I love going for a run in my wolf for, as much as she does. I also needed to track those rogues and scent out where they're hiding. I won't do anything right now though, I'm smart enough to call back up. I start making my way deeper into the woods and finally caught a trace of a scent. It's about a few days old but it didn't rain and I was in luck. This should be at least a little harder, they should've attempted to cover their tracks. But I think they want to be found. Maybe they want something from Marcus? I don't know, but I do know there are in fact four rogues lurking around. Maybe the new trainees mis counted. No deal though, it's expected, they are still learning.

    I followed the scent trails for about another hour and they split off into two different directions. That's kind of expected in rogues, they prefer to be alone. However, if there are four and they're camping outside the border, they should be more apt in staying together in case the border patrol made an appearance. Somethings not right and I need to report back to Marcus and the other head warriors before going any further.

  So instead of getting into a heap of issues with a possibility of four rogues right now, I decided to turn around and head back. I made sure to listen and see if it was still clear, it was too quiet though. After about thirty minutes of running I hear a twig snap and before anything else could happen I took off at a fast sprint. Light foot falls sounded behind me, meaning that I was further ahead but not far enough I need to put more distance between us. I was nearing the border, maybe another mile out. Mind linking the border patrol I told them to meet me at the West border as fast as they can. Just a little further and I'll be fine.

* OOF!*

I crashed to the ground with a hard thump and knew straight away it was one of those nasty rogues. I had at least another five minutes til the other warriors make it to the border and then another five to get to me. So I had ten minutes to lay out an ass whoopin to whoever just tackled me.  'Let me take over, it'll be over with quick' Luna said excitedly. I laughed and shook my head. I heard her huff her disapproval. I got up as fast as possible but they seemed to have beaten me to it as they came back at me jaw wide open. Typical attack strategy and a dumb one at that. I dodged the wolf and turned my head enough to grab hold of the hind leg and I clamped down hard til I tasted blood. I let go and jumped back to get a quick glance at his profile.

"Male, average male wolf size, seems to be younger" I mind linked the oncoming warriors.

The wolf lunged back at me, thinking he'd caught me off guard. I jumped onto his hind quarters and bit into the back of his neck, that way he can't move without dying. He struggled a little at first, then he stopped. Realizing that he had no chance, he continued to growl menacingly towards me. I could taste his blood running from the open punctures I've created. Three warriors finally made it to me and were in their wolf forms as well. One had shifted and took hold of the rogues scruff as I changed back to tell them what I'd found so far.
