Bestfriends (alternative ending)

Y/n's POV

Okay.

Today is the day.

Today is the day I ask my bestfriend c/n out.

I've had a crush on them since we basically met.

It was just a years worth of liking them on and off.

But I've started to think...

Maybe they like me too?

Maybe I won't get rejected.

Maybe we can work on actually being together.

Of course that's all maybes though.

But maybe, just maybe.

The universe will actually do something good.

I took a deep breath while looking in my vanity mirror.

I picked up my phone and texted c/n.

Y/n😝 : hey! Wanna come to this park with me? I'm bored.

C/n💓 : sure! Send me the address.

Y/n😝 : fakeadress street. You'll see it, it's next to Wendy's.

C/n💓 : okay! Cya there.

I got ready to go to the park and put on a simple outfit.

I left the house and walked to the park.

10 minutes later

"Hey c/n!" I said as I gave them a hug.

"Hey y/n!" He/she said joyfully.

"Um. I actually asked you to come hang with me because I wanted to t-talk to you... about something." I said hesitantly.

"Okay. What's wrong?" He/she asked as they pulled me to a nearby bench.

"Um. I know that we're bestfriends and I couldn't be happier. It's great and your great but... I've developed feelings for you over the years.. I hope we can still be friends if you don't feel the same..." I said as I watched c/n's  face expression.

"I- I'm sorry y/n but... I just don't-" I cut c/n off.

"I-I-it's okay c/n. I understand." I hid my sadness with a smile.

"Come on y/n I know you better than that for you to fake a smile in my face!" C/n said.

"No no no really it's okay." I said as a tear shed my eye.

I quickly wiped it away and kept the smile on my face.

C/n just looked at my sympathetically.

I began to broke down.

"I'm so sorry. I hope we can still be friends." I sobbed.

"I don't know y/n... It would just be too awkward for me..." c/n said avoiding my eyes.

My heart broke.

I got up and ran away from the park.

"Y/N! Y/N COME BACK! I DIDN'T MEAN TO HURT YOU!" C/n said.

I just kept running.

I'm so stupid.

I let a stupid crush break up me and my best friend's friendship.
