“Alright guys! Quickly gather.” Marc yelled. The boys ran to us and waited for Marc to continue.
“Defenders, you are following Erik. Midfielders, you follow me and strikers stay here with Cato.” He blew on his whistle, which meant: action!
Romelu and Divock walked to me.
“Boys.” I smiled.
“Fave girl.” Romelu winked and hugged me.
“Cathy!” Divock smiled his cute smile and hugged me too.
“Alright, we stretch, then we’re warming up with some sprints and after that, we play a little game.” The game was to let the boys get along well. There couldn’t be any tension between the two, because it could make the whole team get tensed and that’s not what we want. When the one striker gets chosen for a game, the other one can’t make a scene, same goes for substitutions, and I had to clear that up for them.
I sprinted along with them and Romelu was the fastest, but not much faster than Divock and me.
“Alright, Romelu..” We were all breathing heavily. “You win this time.” I smirked.
“One, two, three!” The three of us gave our all as we arrived around the same time.
“We’re getting closer.” I winked at Divock, who smiled back.
“Alright..” We drank some water. “Next thing: I’m goalie, you try to score against me.” The boys smirked, thinking I sucked at this. My purpose was to let them play along, when they see they have to give up the goal to the other, because they can’t score themselves, I want them to actually do it.
I grabbed some goalie gloves and got ready.
“Bring it, boys!” Romelu started with the ball and ran straight to the goal. I saw he wasn’t going to pass to Divock ever, so I came out and cleared the ball away.
“Why didn’t you pass to Divock when I came out?” I asked him.
He didn’t say anything, he just looked at me.
“Alright, doing this again and use your brain.” I said while walking back to my goal.
Romelu ran straight to goal again and passed to Divock just before I wanted to clear the ball away. I smiled.
“Good! Repeat this 5 times, after that, Divock starts and you repeat that 5 times too.”
They scored 8 goals, because they passed to each other.
“You see what I mean? Don’t be too selfish with goals. In games like these, games in the World Cup, we don’t have time for anyone to be selfish. We share goals, because we’re a team. It’s not important who scores, it’s important that we score. Alright?” I smiled at them, patting their backs. They just nodded and smiled back.

After training with them for 4 hours – we practiced penalties, 1-on-1’s, free-kicks, passing, etc., Marc gathered us again.
“Good job, guys, we are taking a quick break and then we’ll be playing a game.” The guys cheered and drank some water, while talking with each other.
Marc called me and we quickly made two line-ups.
“Guys, Cato’s going to tell the groups!”
“Courtois; Alderweireld, Kompany, Lombaerts, Vertonghen; Witsel, De Bruyne, Defour; Hazard, Mertens; Lukaku. Follow me!” The boys followed me to one end of the pitch.
“You just had to pick me, didn’t you?” Eden smirked at me.
“Hm. You just happened to be the last midfielder available.” I winked at him.
“Lucky you then.” He walked past me. Damn, this boy.

“Remember what I told you, if we win this: movie night in my room.” I winked at them. They all cheered.
“Let’s go!” They all started to run towards their places on the pitch as I quickly slapped Eden’s butt before he left off. I just had to. His eyes widened as he turned around. He laughed when he saw me smirking there.
“You’ll get that back.” He smirked as he started to run towards me. I started to sprint away – he wasn’t that faster than me, we used to jog/run together, when we were still together – as he followed me. I screamed for help but they all just watched me, laughing. Eden grabbed my body, turning me around and quickly slapping my butt.
Not gentlemen.” I turned around, slightly smiling.
He grabbed my arm and pulled me close to his body. I could feel his warm breath on my skin and I could only look at his lips. My heart was beating out of my chest and we just stood there for a second.
“You know you love me.” He smirked and just left me there. What a payback. It took me a few seconds to recover. I cleared my throat as I walked back next to the pitch, embarrassed.
“Alright, guys! Let’s go!” The whistle blew and the game started.
