"Sooooooooo"

I haltingly looked over to my best friend somehow knowing what she was hinting at.
"Sooooooooo, what Nova?"

"How does it feel to be going to the same college as your ex?" Nova asked almost singsongly wiggling her eyebrows with a Cheshire grin on her face.

"Ugh, seriously..... I love you Nova but you don't know how badly I wanna strangle you right now" I laughed as I threw my plush pillow at her face. She laughed as she tried, unsuccessfully, to dodge my surprise attack. "But to answer your question, it's a big campus and I have you, Kai, and everyone else as buffers if I ever have the misfortune of running into him." It's been almost 2 years since me and Nolan broke up and since then I've avoided relationships like the plague.

"Weeeelllllll you could always hook up with -" "Nova, " I stop her before she could even get started. "I don't want nor do I need a boy toy. Honestly I don't even want to put myself out there...." Nova sensed where I was going and before I could finish my sentence she trampled over; wrapping me into one of her famous bear hugs. She automatically knew that my mind reverted to thinking about the break up. It had been a nightmare and it did a number on me.

We let the conversation die as we melted into the bed and resumed our movie. I look over at Nova confusedly and laughed because she had the same quizzical look on her face. "I guess we talked through most of the movie because I have no idea what's going on," Nova laughed, "well before you restart the movie I'm going to get us more snacks." I pop up off my bed and expertly crash into my small circular ottoman. I curse silently as Nova lets out a snort trying to hide her amusement.

"No snacks for yooouuuuu!" I yell as I run out my door closing it before she has the chance to respond. Through the closed door I could hear her muffled cries of protest as I lunged down the stairs. Humming to myself I open the fridge to examine the contents. Somewhere along the way my humming turned into singing"Do Rae Me Fa Sooooo fucking done with you giiirrrllll!" I sing. Extremely glad that everyone was gone, Nova and I didn't have to worry about disturbing anyone with our sleepover shenanigans.

Getting into a groove I pull out various fruits, whipped cream and the caramel syrup. Holding everything in my arms I turn around to place the ingredients onto the counter to see amused grey eyes staring back at me.

Stifling a scream I jump back and immediately recognize who those eyes belong to. "Jin, you absolutely cannot be using your ninja skills to sneak up on me!"

Sitting on the other side of the counter is my brothers best friend Jin. His silvery gaze shimmered with amusement as he flashed one of his smiles that would incinerate the most callous heart. "Skylar, you were too preoccupied with your song and ransacking of the fridge to hear me and Kai come in." He says lightheartedly.

Looking around I ask in a sorta shaky tone "Where is Kai anywa-" before I could finish the sentence, Jin and I both startle at a shrill scream and then we hear "I WILL END YOUR LIFE KHALIL!!" originate from my room.

Bounding down the stairs Khalil laughs almost maniacally as Nova sprints after him slipping and leaving a trail of water behind her. I glare at my twin as he sprints into the kitchen and stands at the far side of the island. His innocent gaze quickly morphed into pleasure as he admired his work.

I turned my head and gasped starting at my drenched best friend just standing in the door frame to the kitchen. Nova looked like she'd just jumped into a pool, a puddle already starting to form on the floor from her drenched clothes. Her straightened hair already starting to coil into wild locks. If looks could kill, Kai would be dead ten times over. "Skyy, I thought you said he was gonna be gone until Sunday morning." Nova violently whispered through clenched teeth, clearly trying to contain the malevolence burning in her eyes.

"Oh come on babe, you know I just couldn't let y'all have the house to yourselves" Khalil answers Nova jokingly, obviously having no regard for his health. "Besides all the graduation parties are played out... So Jin and I made the executive decision to come and enjoy karaoke/movie night with my favorite twin and her friends."

"Woah Khalil, don't put my name next to yours on that death certificate!" Jin bolts upright after hearing his name, interjecting into Khalil's rant, "especially since you decided to invite-" Jin's eyes widens with realization of what he's about to say and clamps his mouth shut. He shoots Khailil an apologetic look as I glance at the withering look Kai is giving Jin.

The silence in the room is deafening, I glance over to the space my best friend was occupying taking note that it's now vacant. As I let what Jin just let slip process I stare between Jins horrified expression to Kais nonchalant one. "So.... dear brother," I let the expression drawl form my lips with honey laced venom "who all.... did you invite.... to my girls night?" I scowl at my twin raising my right eyebrow slightly. Noticing both Kai and Jin's 6'4" frame constrict under my steady stare. "Ooohhhhh, someone's in troublllleeeee!" Novas cheerful purr erupts from behind me. Taking my side a now semi-dry Nova stands beside me. "Okay, Skyy. I understand Kai getting the death glare but Jin? What did I miss?" She looks quizzically over to me as she tries to tame her now curly hair.

Before I could answer I'm interrupted by the chirpy tone of the doorbell. "I'll grab it!", Nova bounds towards the door "wait until I come back, I don't wanna miss a thing!" She yells over her shoulder, already running to the door.

"Gabby!! Mari!! Quel!!" We hear Novas excited yells from the front as she invites the rest of our best friends into the house. "Uh Nova?" Gabbys voice laced with curiosity is heard, "why is your hair damp? Did you just get outta the shower?" Kai snickers as my friends walk into the kitchen, he straightens up immediately when Nova glares daggers over to where he's standing.

"So girls it looks like our quiet movie weekend has been invaded by my brother and his friends..." I acknowledge with mock rage. " WHAT!!!" Novas shrill scream makes everyone in the kitchen wince. "Skyy..." Kai stares down with a pleading look in his eyes...... I hate it when he does that, giving me that lost puppy look. I will not give in to this! I glare back at Kai but.......darn it! I can't stay upset when he looks so damn sad...... sensing what I'm thinking Kai flashes a triumphant grin knowing he's softened me up with his look.

"Okay twins, although y'all can understand each other with that weird telepathic shit..... you still have to talk when us regular folk are around" Mari interrupts walking over to Jin planting a kiss on his cheek. Shaking my head I smile at my two best friends and how they finally got it together after months of sneaking glances and shameless flirting.

"Well I guess I should order pizzas and make more snacks if I'm gonna be feeding the bottomless pits known as my brothers friends" I deadpan while staring Kai down. "Thanks Skyy, we really was tired of those lame graduation parties, and I didn't invite a whole lotta people just the gang."

His gang consisted of Barrett Reynolds, Simon Miller, Nathaniel Greene and Daniel Murphy. "Kai.... I know you said the gang.... but by any chance, did you forget to invite Barrett?"
