36. The Ride Vanished

Tsukasa and the others made it back to the house with Tsukasa missing her left arm.

They walked to the garage to see that the door handles are barred with Kurumi's shovel which was lent over to Chinatsu before they left. Soft banging can be heard from behind.

"Come on... Please open up..."

Tsukasa immediately pulled the shovel, returned it to Kurumi and opened the doors.

The group was shocked at what they see. The RV is gone, and the garage is empty, except for Chinatsu, standing in front of the doorway with a depressed look.

"What are you doing!?" Kurumi asked.

"Don't get angry... Our ride's gone."

"No s?$t, it's gone!" Kurumi said back, since Chinatsu just stated the very obvious.

"Relax! Yoshikawa, what happened?" Mei asked.

"They were waiting for me in here!"

"Who?"

"Yui-Senpai, and Shiiko-San! My other clubmates as well!"

"Is Ruu-chan safe?" Tsukasa asked.

"Yeah. She was still sleeping inside when I guarded the RV, but now it's gone..."

"YOSHIKAWA, you are USELESS!" Kurumi cursed.

Chinatsu looked down, feeling guilty but then it became shock as she sees Tsukasa's arm.

"Where's Tsu's arm?"

"She was bitten, and we cut it off." Kurumi replied.

"What!?"

"Don't just 'what'! YOSHIKAWA, I could just KILL you right now! I couldn't believe you didn't even fight back!"

"Well, it is Yui-Senpai and..."

She sighed.

"Well, we get to the University to fetch Yuki, and then what?" Kurumi asked.

"We go to the area where your school is to find the so called cure, and stay the hell away from cities! I'm done with cities, we go to the countryside where it's more wide and open." Mei suggested.

"That seems to be a good idea!" Chinatsu smiled.

"Nobody asked you." Kurumi said, disgusted.

"You just did!"

"Don't go freaking smart on me, Yoshikawa..."

"Get over it!"

"We need to go to the countryside after everything. We've been hitting around cities for too long."

"We should go there!? We could just go back to my school right? And stay there until we can contact a rescue!?"

"That's what I'm avoiding. I doubt help will come any time soon, but since I got one of those phones from Randall, maybe you can summon rescue somewhere else, calm down Kurumi-San!"

"Yeah, chill down!" Chinatsu followed.

They then went into the garden, as Kurumi then said "Yoshikawa, I swear to God... When the hell do you get off!?"

"I'm just saying we should ALL chill, not just you!"

"CHILL? 'Fight Crew, hey CHILL, here's some pills!' 'Oh, Yui-Senpai! CHILL, here's our freaking RIDE!"

"This isn't my fault..."

"I can't point to ONE thing around here that isn't somehow your fault!.... Tsu should've left you at Randall--"

"SHUT UP, KURUMI!" Chinatsu snapped, casting honorifics aside which surprised Kurumi.

"Whoa, Yoshi--" Tsukasa tries to calm Chinatsu down, but was stopped by Mei who said "Let her."

"I am so, so, SO sorry about Rii and Naoki-Senpai! I really AM! But stop pushing me around, and stop wishing I was dead!"

Kurumi was about to speak back, but

"NO! You know HOW they died! You said GOODBYE... I never got to see my family, my grandma, my Onee-Chan... You get that? Your friends are gone but at least you get to know what happened to them when you lost them! I never went home... They could be alive, or dead, or infected, OR WORSE, AND I DON'T KNOW! SO GIVE ME A FREAKING BREAK!"

"Oh, Yoshikawa, I'm..." Kurumi was about to apologize, but suddenly they heard growling.

A herd is approaching the house, and this is enough to make the group run inside. Just as they went in they found a note on the floor. It was from Konata.

Dear Tsukasa,
I have to say that I'm sorry I had to leave you and Ruu-chan behind, but I really want to see Kagamin again. Good luck, and we'll meet again at the university!

"Come on! Not at a time like this..." Tsukasa muttered.

Ruu ran out of her room and went downstairs to see the group taking a breather.

"What's wrong?"

"Ruu-chan, find a way to get out... We have to hold out until she finds one." Tsukasa replied.
