It's been two weeks since my confession. We've fallen back into our usual routine without any mention of that day. I didn't know whether to be sad or relieve. I guess I'm just glad Liam is treating me like he normally would instead of possibly avoiding me. Besides, I need to give him time right?
"Niall! Are you there lad?" I blinked twice before focusing my attention to the waving hand in front of me.
"Oh hey Liam." I smiled. We are currently waiting to go on stage and perform our new single "Little Things". I glanced around and saw Harry and Louis talking to each other and they were rather close. I rolled my eyes at them and then turned to look at Liam.
He chuckled and scratched the back of his neck. "I was just making sure you're alive," he teased lightly. I softly punched his shoulder and grabbed the last crumpet that was on the snack table.
"Niall, don't eat that!" Liam quickly snatched the crumpet from my fingers and looked at it in distaste.
"LIAM! IT'S MINE!" I yelled and tried to get it back. He dodged my attempts and simply raised it high over his head. He grinned as I tried jumping and I was an excellent jumper. Too bad it didn't make a difference. I just folded my arms and pouted. "Meanie."
He gave a hearty laugh before throwing the crumpet into the bin. My eyes went huge! "W-What did you do that for? LIAM! I'M GONNA AVENGE MY CRUMPET!" I almost gave out a battle cry when I lunged at him but it came out as a squeal because...I slipped on a banana peel. I was about to say good-bye to my face when I saw the ground getting closer but Liam caught me in time.
Live and die by food was apparently my motto now. I sighed and calmed my fast-beating heart. That was kinda embarrassing. Not almost hitting the ground but being this close to Liam. I took a step back from his arms and muttered a thanks. But than I remembered something. My eyes lit up with fire as I glared up at him.
"You may have saved me but I can't forgive you yet!" I jabbed a finger at his chest. I was still heartbroken over my delicious snack. Now I'm gonna be hungry on stage! A hungry Niall is not a happy Niall!
He just smiled and pinched my cheeks. What am I? A baby? I gritted my teeth and smacked his hand away from my face. "Go away!"
"Niall...Niall," he cooed softly, pulling at my sleeve. I closed my eyes tightly and pretended that he wasn't there.
"Niall, those crumpets were bad. They were made from weeks old milk. I think Andy is still in the washroom. I guess they missed one when the staff threw the batch away," Liam explained, smiling when my eyes opened at the information.
"Ohhhh." Why didn't he say anything sooner?
"Because you look cute when you're mad."
My face flushed red. I opened my mouth and closed it again, unsure of what to say. "H-How did you know I was thinking about that?" I managed to squeak..I mean, confidently say. I'm gonna ignore the fact that he just called me cute. Damn, I sound like a girl right now.
He shrugged. "It seemed like that was going through your mind." He touched my cheeks and I watched his eyes turn from playful to serious in a matter of seconds.
I've always loved his eyes, his almond-colored eyes. I don't know how long we just gazed at each other but we were then rushed onto stage by the stage crew.
"What was that I saw? Someone getting lovey-dovey with their future boyfriend?" Louis whispered into my ear. His teasing was noted.
"Shut up," I muttered back. I could feel my ears getting slighly warmer. I'm probably turning red again.
"Louis, leave Nialler alone. I think they're adorable," Harry said, smirking at me.
"Of course they are! One is like a puppy and the other one is a cute leprechaun!" Louis happily exclaimed. Luckily the crowd was screaming or else they would hear him.
I rolled my eyes and took a seat next to Zayn. At least he won't make fun of me. "Don't leave me alone with them ok?" I hastily pleaded.
"Don't worry Niall, it'll be ok." He patted my shoulder and smiled warmly.
Liam came close to me as Zayn started singing. "I need to tell you something later ok?"
I looked at him, puzzled but nodded anyway.

"What?" I asked. "Can you say that one more time?"
"Sir, Nandos is under renovation so we're closed for 2 weeks."
I think I just stopped breathing. I stared at the worker as she watched me with a bored expression. I guess she doesn't share my troubles.
"Niall, come on lad. We'll get Harry to make us something then," Liam said, pulling me back to the van.
"Yeah don't be a drama queen!" Louis shouted from the van and guffawed.
"You're the drama queen!" I yelled back. I just like my Nandos. I'm more like a kid than a sassy girl. Yes I just called Louis a girl but I am not saying that out loud. I like my hair thank you very much.
Louis narrowed his eyes at me before shrugging. "I guess you're right."
"I still love you anyway," Harry stated, looking at Louis adoringly. I tuned them out because I really didn't want to hear their lovey dovey talks. Ever since they got back from Paris, it's been extremely awkward for me, Liam and Zayn, at least for the first week. I don't even want to talk about it. We've already accepted them so it doesn't matter.
We were dropped off at Zayn's mansion and the boys scattered. I was about to head into the kitchen when Liam appeared and dragged me to an empty room. "Liam? What's up?"
"I told you I needed to tell you something right? Well I need to do that privately." He grinned and let my arm drop to my side.
I nodded and waited him to begin his little talk.
He cleared his throat and looked down at his feet before looking at me nervously. "I'm sorry about these past few weeks. I know you wanted an answer from me."
My eyes widened as I realized what he was saying. I suddenly took in how nervous he really is. Before he even said anything, I knew it wasn't gonna be good news but I hoped anyway.
"But I-I don't think I'm like that. I don't like lads Niall. I just can't be with you. I'm sorry."
My heart died a little when the lady said Nandos was closed but my heart was now crushed into tiny pieces at his words.
I let my head fall. Don't cry, man up, don't cry. I repeated that over and over in my head.
"Nialler.." Liam said softly.
I shook my head. I don't want him to talk or else I'll break down right here. I actually thought I was getting somewhere. Those warm looks he was giving me for a week now, the soft caresses on my cheek. Everything I hoped for has immediately vanished in that minute or two. But I guess it's better to end something before it could start. At least this pain will blow over with time.
"I understand," I muttered and ran out of the room. I didn't want to look at his pained expression, knowing it will be there.
I went straight to the kitchen and saw a bunch of food. I guess I'll be binge eating tonight.
Again, I am such a girl.
AWWW, poor Nialler:( Sorry everyone for the late update but I'll be updating more as breaks start coming in. I plan to finish this story in December so it won't be as long as the other one. Ok, comment please cuz I really need to know if you guys like this or not. What do you think will happen in the next chapter? ;) Ok love you lots! Thanks for commenting, voting and fanning!
