While it may seem like an insignificant detail when compared to plot points and character developement, the names you choose for your characters are - by far - one of the most important choices any writer can make.

The reason behind this being that character names will be one of the most constant details in any story. Therefore it's important that they be not only pronouncable but also original.

For example, when you assign a character with a name such as Xiomara or Róisín that can make your story a lot less enjoyable. To elaborate, the best thing authors can do is create a book that completely overtakes its readers, and when you include such complicated names it can throw off the 'flow' of your writing. But, of course, if your character is part of a culture in which 'odd' names are traditional than this does over ride this rule.

Another very important factor to consider when naming a character would also be originality. It takes away the depth of any authors work when the names of their characters are over used or cliché.

A great way to avoid these mistakes would be by simply putting more effort into character naming. Rather than just picking popular names do research and explore your options. Try using google translate or name generators to get new ideas.

To sum up this chapter, I'll simply tell you to remember...
