"'HILLS TO FIND'... really morgan?" nate chuckled, thinking back about what morgan had said as the team sat in the quinjet with peter piloting the plane with lila once again to moscow's secret shield headquarters.

"no, forget about that now," morgan said dismissively. "now the question is... why would the russian government, of all countries, allow us americans to build a shield headquarters? aren't they more of a 'hail hydra!' kind of country?"

"to be frank," dani joined in the conversation as she looked at the other stark. "hydra is from germany, isn't it? the nazis funded them and stuff before in world war two."

"yeah, but russia did strongly support hydra at one point," jason shared his insight. "towards the end of the cold war i think. my father's experience in hydra was in siberia, hence why he's more fluent in russian than other languages."

"speaking of your father, how is uncle bucky and uncle sam doing?" morgan questioned as she looked at jason.

as the two talked, lily noticed cordelia was getting left out of the conversation and so decided to start one with her, "you okay?"

"yeah, i'm fine..." cordelia replied. despite her words, lily could tell she wasn't. however, she could also see that cordelia didn't want to open up at all.

"i know you don't wanna talk about it, but just know that i'm for you," lily said to her friend, with a concerned tone in her voice. she cared for her as much as everyone else in the forming team.

"enough chit chatting, kids," peter said, specifically to jason and morgan for they somehow managed to get into a childish argument. the webslinger's words silenced everyone. "we've arrived."

"even after years of training, you punch weaker than i do," maria hill said, in a joking manner of course, to her son.

a grunt could be heard from caspar as his mother said those words. he knew for sure she didn't mean those words, but those words did tell him to punch the punch bag harder, and so he did.

finally, after a few minutes, maria allowed him a water break.

caspar was exhausted, given that he had trained for the entire day today. there was sweat all over him at that moment, and a towel barely solved half the problem. to add to that, he was also feeling rather hungry. maria, being his mother, somehow read his mind as she said, "we should go get some food. come on."

a sigh of relief can be heard from caspar as he stood up and followed her down to the cafeteria.

whilst they ate, maria looked around and saw an agent walking towards her. when the agent did approach her, she asked, "can whatever it is you're about to ask me wait?"

"i apologise, ma'am, i'm afraid not. there are a couple of teenagers looking for you, insisting they needed to meet with you and your son, and they added it was urgent. one of them was identified as peter parker, another one's cordelia maddox?" the agent reported, looking at her. his tone at the end sounded more like a question.

at the sound of peter and cordelia's names, caspar stood up from his chair and asked the agent, "are they at the landing area?"

after the agent's nod, caspar immediately threw out his food and ran off. maria sighed, before reluctantly doing the same before chasing after him.

"i need you to understand," maria told her son, with that distinct look of worry and sternness in her eyes. "how dangerous this whole thing is. you can die. any one of the others can die."

"my single life, versus the tens of millions of other innocent lives? c'mon, mom, that's not a difficult choice to make at all," caspar insisted.

"but to me it is," maria argued back. "you mean everything to me."

"you won't lose me, mom, i assure you," caspar's eyes showed nothing but courage and reassurance. when his mother saw those qualities in his eyes, she sighed. she knew she had to let him go.

"besides," caspar added on to his words. "i've been training for this moment, remember?" the other members of the team were all looking at maria, begging for her to agree.

maria then nodded, still quite reluctant of her decision. caspar was over the moon at that reply, and he gave her a hug. his mother hugged back.

"don't get yourself killed, you understand me?" maria looked at her son after they pulled away. she was strong enough to not show any tears. they both didn't want to lose each other again.

caspar nodded, "i won't get myself killed. i promise. besides, i'd rather die fighting than live knowing i didn't help." those words gave maria a smile. she loved this side of him.

"go get him, boo," maria said, smile still there. caspar gave her a "don't say that" look, before following the other grinning teammates into the quinjet.
