Chapter two

I smile at Darry. "Can I get water" I ask "sure..come on" soda says. I follow him to the kitchen. He pours me a cup with water. "Thank you" I say. He smiles at me. I hear other people in the living room. Soda walk out. I finish my water. I put my cup on the counter. Then I walk out. It gets silent. I look up. Everybody's staring at me. "Soda I didn't know you had a girlfriend" the blonde boy says "she's not my girlfriend" soda says "okay then I call dibs" the blond boy says. He walk over to me. Grabs my hand. Twirls me. "I'm two-bit" he says "it's nice to meet you" I say "okay but is this not the cutes and hottest burnet" he says "she's is huh" I hear soda say. I start laughing. The door opens. "Hi I'm Johnny" he says "it's nice to meet you Johnny I'm lydia" I say. He smiles at me. "Are you a soc" two-bit ask's "no" I say "your a greaser" ponyboy says. I look at him "yes" I say "wooho!!" All the boys start cheering. Then Steve walks in. He smiles and winks at me. I role my eyes. "Okay so lydia were you from" Darry ask's "to be honest I don't remember" I say "family" two-bit ask's "um my mother died about two years ago...I live with my step father and step brother..they are abusive but my step brother can be sweet at times...they are both socs so it doesn't work out perfectly" I say. I didn't know I was crying until ponyboy. Grabs me in a huge. "I'm sorry" i say wiping tears from my eyes. "We didn't know you had it bad" Darry says "it's fine" I say "how old are you" Steve ask's "16" I say " for real" two-bit ask's "Yeah" I say "your very attractive" he says "guys we gotta keep her away from dally" Johnny says. "Facts about you" Johnny says "um I get scared really easily because of bob and randy and my step father and brother...so the little things you do like grabbing my wrist unexpectedly or something like that or loud noises get me scared sometimes" I say. They look at me. I smile. "You know you very beautiful" Johnny says "thank you" I say " she's a keeper" soda says and he winks at me. "Hahaha" I say sarcastically. "She fits in with the gang" Darry says. I smile. "Doesn't this work" I say pulling out my pocket knife. "Yeah!!" They all yell. Steve grabs my hand and twirls me. Then he kisses my cheek. "Let's go! The movie is gonna start" Darry yells. They walk outta the house. I walk to the kitchen. I fill my cup with water. I take one more drink. "C'mon" I hear someone say. I turn around and it's soda. "I'm coming" I say. Hey grabs my hand and yanks me outta the house. "Hey soda be careful please" I say. He looks at me and smiles. "Hey guys" I say "yes" they all say "y'all got your pocket knifes on you right" I say "yes" they all say. I smile at them. "Listen if the socs try to pick a fight please don't..I hate fights..then I get the end of it" I say "if we have to protect you and it turns into a fight..then it'll be like that" pony says "thanks pony" I say smiling at him. We finally reach the theater. They know me so let me In For free. "There with me" I say. The guy shakes his head and lets us in. "You get in for free" Johnny ask's "yeah because he thinks I'm hot" I say "well he ain't lying" Steve says. We take our seats. "Who's this hot burnet" I hear someone says "mmm Dallas Winston" I say. He looks at me and takes a seat. "Your very hot" Dallas says "now you know what I mean" I say looking at ponyboy and soda. "So what's your name" Dallas ask's "Lydia" I say. I feel his hand on my thigh. "Hey Dallas can you move your hand please" I say. He keeps it there. I take a deep breathe. Panicking a little. "Pony boy go with me to get a coke, yeah?" I say "sure" he replies. I stand up. I wait for pony boy. "Buy me one" soda and Darry say "sure" I say. "So what happened back there" pony boy asks "I had to get out..it's what bob and randy do all the time..they think it's okay to just touch me whenever they feel like it" I say "I'm sorry" pony says "when we go back you can take my seat" pony says "thank you" I say. We walk back with Darry and sodas coke. I take pony's seat between soda and Darry. Pony takes mine with Dallas. "So how did you guys meet" Dallas ask's "long story" I say. Is been an hour and the movie has ended. I hear a car. I turn around. "Oh no..we got company" I say "it's okay" soda says. The cars stops and we stop walking. I cross my arms. "You know greaser you were supposed to see the movies with us not them" randy says "oh please..you know you wouldn't watch the movie" I say looking at him "yeah cause we would have been watching you" I hear bob say. "Leave me alone" I say "Lydia get in the car" bob says "no" I say "now!" I hear him yell. He walk towards me and that's it. The guys pull out there knifes and soda is standing in front of me. "This is how you want it..have it your way..but we'll see" randy says. I roll my eyes. They get back in the car. The tears start to appear again. They drive off. The boys put there pocket knifes away. I look at soda. The tears running down my face. He pulls me into a hug. "I'm sorry" I hear him say "it's not your fault" I say "but the way they treat you it's unfair" soda says. I hug him so tight. My arms wrapped around his neck his hands wrapped around my waist. "Now I got to go home to my step father"I say "how about you stay with us" Darry says "I couldn't" I say "please" pony says. I look at him. Then I look at Darry, then soda. "Fine, but I need to go to my house first" I say. "Hey soda?" I say "yeah" he says. He walks with me. "Are you sure I'm not bugging?" I say to him "are you joking..we've never had a girl before" soda says "I just don't wanna out stay my welcome" I say "shut up" soda says "why" I say. Then he does what I thought he never would. He kissed me. "Now stay" he says. I smile at him. "Ponyboy?" I say "yeah" he asks "give me a piggyback ride please" I say "come here" he says. I walk over to him. "Jump" he says. I jump on his back. "Where to" Darry says "take a right, then a left, and then a left again and my house will be there" I say "so your a greaser" Dallas says "yes" I say "your a pretty cute greaser" Dallas says "thank you" I say "I know with her hazel eyes and plump lips..I could kiss them all day if I wanted to" pony says. I smile at him. "We are here" Darry says I get off of pony's back. Thank goodness bob and randy ain't here. "Wait for me please" I say. I walk to the house. "Where the fuck were you!" my step father yells "I was busy" I say "you know..just because your mother is dead doesn't mean you can leave whenever you want...I could kick you out if I wanted to!!" he yells "kick me out!!" I say. Then he walks up to me and slaps me. I walk to my room. I grab my bag. I put my pjs in there and my clothes for tomorrow. My lipstick and mascara. My white converse. "You know greaser" my step father says "what!" I yell. I grab my bag and walk downstairs. "Your a low life greaser..who doesn't know how to keep her legs closed!!" My step father yells "you know!! I wonder why my mother even married you!! You nothing but an asshole!! And no I know how to keep my legs closed!! You don't know how to keep your mouth shut and your hand off of me!!" I yell at him. He walks up to me and slaps me hard across the face. I grab the chair to keep myself steady. "I hate you!! You know I have a life too!! And that doesn't mean listening to your bullshit and letting you hit me!! I'm outta here!!" I say "find with me" he says. "Before you go" he says. I look at him and he raises his hand. I pull out my pocket knife. "Damn greaser" he says "you think your tuff don't you" he says "I don't think I'm tuff but im not gonna let you hit me" I say "have it your way then..but we'll see" he says. I let the tears fall down. "We'll see when randy and bob get ahold of you" he says again "they aren't allowed to touch me" I say "you always let them touch you" he says again "no I don't" I say "that's why you can't keep your legs closed ..your a filthy little slut lowlife greaser!!" He yells "shut up!!" I say. I grab my bag and walk outside. "One more thing" I hear him say "what" I say back. Then he slaps me. But something sharp was in his hand Enough to draw blood. I feel something on my cheek. I put my hand on My face. Blood. I walk down the steps. The guys waiting in the ally. I keep my head down. "I'm sorry" I hear Darry say. I look at him. "Your face is bleeding" dally says "mhm" I say. I start to feel dizzy. "You alright" soda says. I look at him and that's the last thing I remember before passing out.

Sodas POV
"Shut up" I say "why" she answers back. I look at her and then I kiss her. I couldn't help it. She's so fucking beautiful and every time she talks I look at her lips. I couldn't hold back I had to. I get done kissing her and she smile at me. "Pony" she says "yeah" he answers back "give me a piggy back ride" she asks. Pony gives her one. We reach her house. She gets off of pony's back. She walks in. All I could hear was someone yelling at her telling her how she's is a lowlife greaser and can't keep her legs closed . I also heard her get slapped a couple times. We are waiting for her in the alleyway. I hear her walk out. Then I hear her get slapped again. We stay silent. Then we see her walking towards us but she keeps her head down. "I'm sorry" Darry says. She looks up at Darry. "Your face is bleeding" Dally says "mhm" she responds back. Something is off with her. I can tell. "You alright" I ask her. She doesn't respond. She looks at me and then passes out. I catch her. "Let's take her home!!" I yell "cmon" Johnny says "pony grab her bag" I say. We all take her home. I lay her on the couch. "Is she okay" dally ask's "is she breathing" pony says "fuck" Darry says. I remain silent. Hoping she'll wake up.
