"No! Get back! It's still here somewhere! Hroki and Tor just got grabbed when they tried to make a run for it!" The guard said as he showed himself from behind the battered tower.
We had just arrived at the Western Watchtower where the dragon was last sighted. The place was wretched with the fire still blazing. There was debris everywhere from where the tower was busted into.
I went on ahead to scope out the rest of the tower, to make sure the dragon wasn't coming back and to check for survivors. I reached the top of the tower in no time and surveyed at the surrounding area.
"Kynareth save us, here he comes again..." The guard exclaimed from the base of the tower.
About that time, my head swiveled towards the mountain. The beating of large wings could be heard even from the tower as the dragon breached from behind the mountain, releasing a roar that rattled our bones.
The dragon made a beeline for the tower and circled overhead. The guards were terrified at the sight, asking the gods to protect them and keep them from harm.
I tried my bow to see if it could do anything against the dragon, but my arrows just bounced off him, his armor-like scales too thick. I put away my bow and waited to see if it would land. If my bow did nothing then maybe Sparks could, my most powerful destruction spell.
The dragon landed a bit away from the tower and began to breathe fireballs at the guards. I engaged Highborn, a power that lets me regenerate magicka much faster than normal. I ran up closer than I really wanted to and unleashed Sparks.
The dragon turned its head to me and blasted his fire at me. I was getting hurt badly at this point. The fire almost charring my skin. But the same could have been said able the dragon, it's skin turned red from the blood that coated. I was almost out of magicka when the fire stopped, and I heard a deep voice scream. "Dovahkiin! No!"
Then the dragon lay limp. Never moving, finally put down. The guards witness this and began cheering. That was until we all hear the sound of crackling fire coming from the dragon's corpse. A bright light surrounded me like a great wind and gave me a vision.
I saw before me the great wall in Bleak Falls Barrow and the word that glowed the brilliant blue. I stared at the word for a moment, and in that moment, I could see my self in a battle and I was being rushed at. Instead of using magic like I thought would happen, I squared my back and took a deep breath.
"FUS!"
The people that were running toward me were toppled back with the force of it. The next thing I knew my vision had cleared and there was a guard standing infront of me.
"I can't believe it! You're...Dragonborn."
"Dragonborn?" I asked, "What does that mean?"
"In the very oldest tales, back from when there were still dragons in Skyrim, the Dragonborn would slay dragons and steal their power. That's what you did, isn't it? Absorbed that dragon's power?" He said, almost in just as much shock as I was.
"I don't even knkw what happened." I said honestly. I was still too confused about the vision I had seen. What was I doing in the vision?
"There's only one way to find out." He said,"Try to Shout...that would prove it."
Try and shout? What do I even shout out? 'Sweet roll appear'? My mind thinks back to the vision that I was shown. If I shout I could hurt someone if I'm not careful. I turned away from the guard and recalled the word I used.
"FUS!"
The grass around me was pushed back by what looked like a big gust kf wind. The results weren't nearly as powerful as the one in my vision, but it was enough to convince me that something was going on.
"The Jarl," I muttered to myself, "the Jarl needs to know."
I started running, and by the time I passed under the archway before the draw bridge, the ground shook with tremendous force, sounding like thunder cracking in the distance.
"DOVAHKIIN!!!"
Why does all the weird stuff have to happen to me?
