Her first days in San Francisco had been quiet and without any special occurrences. Max spent some time looking around to get to know the area and tried to catch up on her sleep schedule. The job interview from the mail she got a few days ago had been this morning and as far as Max could tell it went quite well. They agreed that Max should come back later this week to start working and see how it went. So at least she could stop worrying about her financial problems for now. Although she had been very insecure about coming here, this whole thing wasn't that bad for the first week. The other waitress she was working most of her shifts with seemed very nice and also her boss seemed okay at least. A bit uptight of course, but she had probably seen worse as far as she could tell. After all he paid well, more or less and let them keep all of their tips. She would make it work somehow, she just had to remember this was meant as a temporary solution and she wouldn't stay there forever.

Otherwise, Max spent most of the days doing some street art this week. On her first evening she had discovered a small park near her room where she could paint, even legal - not that she would care. She had not much to do yet, so she spent most of her time there. Since she had no furniture yet, her own apartment was a bit too empty and dull to spend most of the day there. Besides, the park was certainly not the worst place to maybe meet a few people she could like and hang with in the future. Although Max wasn't very sociable and rather preferred few people around, it would be nice to at least have a few contacts here – and with other artist she had something in common.

A few times already Max hat noticed another artist in the park. She seemed very cool in her opinion, but Max hadn't talked to her yet. She wasn't that good with social interaction and in contrast to what most people assumed very shy towards new people. The other sprayer she saw had a really interesting style and made various 'DedSec' artworks. Apparently, they were a hacker group which was active in the Bay Area bugging all sorts corporations by interfering in their company affairs and uncovering their misconducts. She had seen their name a few times by now and of course already done a bit of her own research after seeing all their artwork that was scattered throughout the city. Most of them were pretty much the same style as the artworks of the other artist she had seen in the park. In her opinion it seemed like they were doing some cool stuff, as far as she could tell. Maybe that other artist was cool and could even show her around a little, if Max met her again.

Since she had no plans for this afternoon, Max was on her way back to her room to change clothes. The new stuff she had to wear at her job was kind of ugly and Max couldn't wait to finally get in her regular clothes again. She slipped in her ripped and torn tights with a pair of fully patched shorts, which kind of was part of her everyday outfit, as well as her striped overknee socks and the bondage belt hanging low around her hips. She snatched one of her washed out crust punk shirts out of her backpack, and grabbed a patched hoodie and her studded vest. Before she left, she glanced at her dirty little mirror in the bathroom and tousled her green-black mohawk. She finally felt like herself again. These awful colorful waitress outfits were the worst, but she had to get used to it for at least half the day. Max slipped into her loosely tied boots, grabbed the bag of spray cans and made her way to the park.

She was almost a bit disappointed she didn't find anyone else there when she arrived, but at least she was able to paint without anyone watching and making her uncomfortable. Max had a few ideas for a new artwork but wasn't sure if it would turn out the way she had planned. She put on her headphones and started sketching on all the other layers of paint already covering the wall. While listening to her favorite songs, she let her creativity flow and after a while her work seemed to turn out way better than expected. In fact, it started to look pretty nice and gave her the motivation she needed to work on all the details and make it as perfect as possible. Max was so absorbed in her work she didn't notice how the time had passed. She only noticed how long she had been working when she realized how hungry she was. Looking at her phone, she stretched and put down her spray cans before instantly wincing as she turned around. The other artist she noticed yesterday was standing behind her and laughing. Still heavily breathing, Max put down her headphones.
