SECRETS AND LIES AT DINNER

(SPENCER'S POV)

"I wanted to ask you if you'd be my date to the dinner am going tonight?" He asks and I smile "with the Phillips" he added

My eyes widened

"WHAT?"

"I can't tell if its a yes or a no" he said

I thought about and I guess I don't really have a choice.

"yeah, sure why not" I said with a forced smile

"its ok if you don-" I cut him off with a kiss

"am going, ok"

"ok, but can I ask you a favor?"

"What?"

"can we not mention our marriage, its not that am  ashamed its just I don't thinks Mrs. Phillips would be pleased that I got married almost a year later" he explained

I expected myself to be at least disappointed with him but am not I completely understand.

"You mean almost a year and a half later" I correct him

"so you'd do it?" he asks

"I'd do anything for you, baby" I respond

"Well . . . I heard you got the day off, so-" I cut him off
"I have to go pick out an outfit for tonight, so i need to go to Hanna's."

"I'll take you to Hanna's"

"I'd love that" I kiss him

"We should get going" he says

"Ok"

Once Toby drops me off at Hanna's I make my way to the door and knock. Hanna answers the door with a huge smile and hugs me.

"Spencer what are you doing"she asked as we walk inside.

"I need your help" I say

"Really?!" She says shocked yet amused

"Yeah, to choose an outfit for tonight"

"What's tonight?" She asks

"Dinner with the Phillips" I answer

"What? Your husband's dead ex wife's parents?" I nod "That's going to end well" she says sarcastically

"Hanna! Help me, instead of worrying me"

"Ok, ok well for starters I have the perfect for a casual dinner" she says "but theirs nothing causal about this dinner" she whispers but I can hear her

"Hanna!" I yell throwing a pillow at her.

"Geez, I'll go get  your dress" she says walking out of the room"

After a couple minutes I get this sickening feeling again and I try to hold it.

"Hanna! Were is your bathroom?!" I ask

" third door to your right!" She yells

I run to the bathroom nearly making it to the toilet to throw up again.

"Are you ok?" Hanna asks

"Yeah, am just getting sick" I say "I think"

"What?" "Nothing, am fine"

"Well here's your dress or gift however you want to call it" she says handing me the dress "Thank you Hanna" I say as I give her hug.

When I got home I took a shower, blow dry my hair, did my make up and put on my dress that was a red flower dress that's stopped above my knees

"You look beautiful" Toby says sneaking up behind making blush his arms circle around my waist and him kissing my back making me moan.

"Baby not now" I say trying to break out of his grip but not succeeding.

"Then tonight" he says with a smirk
"We should get going" I nod

By the time we made it to the grille Mr. and Mrs. Phillips were seated waiting for us. Toby opens the door for me making me blush.

"Mr. Phillips, hello" Toby says greeting them

"Toby, Spencer it's nice seeing you" Mr. Phillips said

"Spencer! So you and Toby are together?" Mr. Phillips

"Yup" I say nodding a little awkward

"Well let's order" Mr. Phillips says

"So how long have you been together?" Mrs. Phillips asks
"Almost a year" I answer
I didn't think Mrs. Phillips would ask question about our relationship

"That's a lovely ring" she says

Oh shit
"Um, thank you"

" is that an engagement ring or wedding ring" she ask

"Uh . . . A wedding ring" I stuttered

"Really well when did you guys get married and why wasn't I invited" she said a little hurt

Is she ok with this us together a year after her daughter's death.

"We eloped" Toby said hold my hand
Toby's phone started ringing

"Excuse me, I have to take this" Toby said getting up

"Well are you guys thinking about kids?" she asks

"Um well yeah when the time comes" I respond

"Baby, we have to go something came up"

"Hmm, um ok"

"I'm sorry for cutting it short" Toby apologies

"It's ok Toby" he say "I hope we can continue this some other time"

"Me too, well bye"
"Bye"

Me and Toby walk out of the grille and I stop at the truck

"Mind telling me what was so important, that we had to leave almost halfway through dinner" I say
