Chapter 8: Meeting Lena

Later, after several old style mysteries, the groups were in a market. Fred, Velma, Blake, and Daphne were sitting on a bench

"Bad guys in masks, mechanical claws, magnets, wires..." Daphne starts

"Hologram projectors...." Blake adds

"Just like the good old days." Velma responded

"Too much like the good old days. We have a show to do. We need a real live ghost." Daphne responds

"That's an oxi-moron, Daph." Velma replies

"Doesn't anyone want a beignet?" Fred asks

"What WE want is a house that's really haunted. I mean, there has to be one somewhere in Louisiana." Blake responds as she flips through a book of photos

"There is, I work in it." They hear a woman say and they all look up

They see a woman who seems to be in her late 20s, black hair, a red and blue dress, red heels, and a red headband and a couple of earrings

"I'm sorry. I couldn't help but over-hear. I work as a chef in a house on Moonscar Island, a place that really is haunted."The woman explains as she walks over carrying a paper bag with basic groceries such as fruits, vegetables, bread, milk,etc. You know, the usual

"Jinkies...." Velma replies

"My name is Lena. Lena Dupree." Lena says as she holds out a hand for a handshake

Fred gets up and shakes her hand and says, "Fred Jones. This is Velma Dinkley, Blake Belladonna, and Daphne Blake."

"Charmed." Lena responds

"Moonscar Island?" Blake asks

"Where's that?" Daphne adds

"It's in a bayou not far from here. A pirate named Morgan Moonscar died on the island and his spirit still haunts the place." Lena explains

"Uh-huh, no offense Lena, but it's probably just some guy in an old pirate suit trying to scare off the local kids." Fred says sounding very skeptical of the whole situation

"The ghost is real, of course, if you're too scared to go." Lena says

"Wow..." Blake whispered

"If you want to check it out, you're welcome to come by. I'll be leaving as soon as I finish shopping." Lena says as she walks off

"We'll think about it." Blake says

"Well, what do you think?" Fred asks

"What do we have to lose? It's the best lead we've had all day!" Daphne responded quickly

"And that Lena is kinda cute." Fred said as he took a bite out of a beignet

"Fred...." Daphne scolded

"I just meant she'd be real photo-genic for our segment." Fred said

"Right, wipe your upper lip, Romeo." Daphne added holding a napkin up to Fred's top lip as powdered sugar was on it

"Jinkies....listen to this!" Velma says

That gets Fred, Daphne, and Blake's attention

"I just punched Moonscar Island into our research database..." Weiss started

"And according to these articles, there have been several strange disappearances around that island over the years." Yang finishes

"Sounds promising." Blake responds

"We better find Shaggy, Scooby, and Ruby before Lena takes off." Daphne adds

"Where are they?" Fred asks

"That's no mystery." Velma responds

"Where else other than to get a bite to eat." Yang adds
