Chapter 1

Chapter 1: The deal
 nine months earlier
 Rose and Grace were having a sleepover. In the morning, Rose's mother Wisteria dropped her off at Grace‘s House. Rose and Grace decided to talk together outside while their mothers were talking about when Rose should be picked up and when their next sleepover would be planned while talking about politics. Rose asked Ms.Coppolo “Is it okay if me and grace go play inside with your ‘PS4’?” Ms.Coppolo responded with “Yes but make sure you and Grace be careful with it, and don’t mess it up got it.” Rose and Grace both understood Alexandra request so they both answered with an “Ok.” Inside the young teenagers were playing “Witcher 3” taking turns playing each main quest in the game. They were playing all day long that they had lost track of time when Ms.Coppolo called “Dinner” they were surprised it was already night they thought time sure is fast when your having fun. Ms.Coppolo served them some food it was pasta with cheese so thick when pulled from the plate it would extended for over a thousand feet. Then, Rose complimented Alexandra's cooking saying how it was the best pasta that she was ever served as usual. Soon the girls were in Grace's Room. But then, the bell had rung making a "Buzzing" noise They opened the door and It was Grace's cousin Jeremiah, he greeted Grace with a big hug saying "It's been so long since I've seen you three or four years. I don't know but who cares. Oh looks like Rose ‘Thorns’ is here too" he said shaking Rose's hand. Grace told Jeremiah that they were having a sleepover. Then after walking the tall staircase Jeremiah said "well then I guess the real fun will begin" he said pulling out a ouija board as soon as he came in to Grace’s room. The two young but not too young teenagers were filled with both eagerness and fear. Soon the three were playing around with a ouija board. They were playing pretending to summon something. Then a sudden eerie aura then came into the room, Grace's mom, Alexandra opened the door slamming it on the wall came in she said "You three should be going to sleep now it's almost twelve in the morning." Rose ask "Ms.Coppolo is it ok if I may get something to drink before I sleep" Ms.Coppolo answered "Yes, you know you don't always have to ask Rose." After walking downstairs Rose could hear what was happening upstairs she tried to make out what was happening upstairs Ms.Coppolo was telling Jeremiah that he could stay in the guest room. Rose soon started to pour apple juice in one of the glass cup the gold like liquid soon almost filled up the cup. Rose had notice that she had almost overfilled the cup but was close to overflowing it. She soon finished her gold like juice filling her stomach making her feel "strange" she could feel the liquid moving in her stomach making her feel sickish. She could feel the liquid moving in her stomach when she moved it felt weird but also made her feel nauseous. She soon was in Grace's room, they were both talking about what types of prank they would pull on Jeremiah. Like flushing the toilet when he’s in the shower and dumping ice cold water on him afterwards. Soon they gave up knowing that Jeremiah would probably strike them first, first thing in the morning. So they both just gave up on making pranks and would soon face their destiny. Rose and Grace were sleeping in their newly and fresh sleeping bags. So soon lights were off making the house look awful as pedestrian took their nightly walks feeling the cool breeze. While Rose was falling asleep. Then, Rose awoke in a red and black endless pit she didn't know where she was but then saw something changing shapes in front of her it looked strange. It started to change forms until it looked like Rose herself. The figure of Rose started to talk instead of a light and shy voice it was a dark and fearsome voice "Why did you play pretend sister I thought you knew better." When Rose looked it was her deceased brother Federico. He died at the age of 5 with his death being committed by a murderer. Rose looked at him saw his brown shiny curls with his bright blue eyes his face as smooth as  his own hair no freckles no sign of acne he was a beautiful sight he was still wearing his black and red shirt saying "You are awesome" in different fonts with bright colors his Jean's were regular just had some tips and his name stitched to the side down saying "Federico Thorns" on both sides. She cried like a sink letting it all out until someone turned off the sink. Her brother hugged her but Rose could not feel his warmth. Then her brother proposed a deal. That if she let her hatred or dislike of someone she could kill them. If course Rose thought that this was a dream but didn't know it was real. She agreed to the deal making her queasy then, she woke up. Very early in fact, it was only seven in the morning. She could smell the sweet scent of blueberry pancake dough. The smell brought her sleep walking to the kitchen. Making her walk down the stairs slowly step by step. When she had entered the kitchen Jeremiah was already there with Alexandra. Alexandra had greeted Rose with a good morning and Rose responded with the same along with Jeremiah. Soon after a couple of minutes of long talks Grace was in the kitchen brought to the kitchen by the sweetest scent of blueberry pancake dough. After they were all in the kitchen Rose has remembered a bit of her dream. Strange but she remembered something. After making the deal she saw a mark like a tattoo it was very detailed showing an image of the word deal with a creature with a big smile it looked like Federico. She asked if she could use the bathroom. Alexandra said yes and said "Is everything okay Rose dear." Rose nodded yes shaking her head so fast she thought Rose thought she said no. Rose was in the luxurious bathroom which was well decorated and designed. She checked her neck to see if the mark was there. She saw it she saw the blood mark on her neck it looked like a knife had done it and remembered there small talk before Grace was in the kitchen that Alexandra said "Have you two seen any knife around I'm missing one" Rose felt her heart had dropped to the core of the Earth. She saw the mark and let out a shriek letting everyone know that she was in fear. Everyone downstairs heard her as expected and ran all the way to the bathroom on the second floor. Jeremiah banged on the door asking if Rose was okay. Rose thought to make up an excuse so she said "Sorry, there was a big roach flying up here I just killed it" everyone outside the bathroom was relieved to hear that. So they all returned to their regular routines. Rose got out the bathroom again apologizing to everyone about earlier. They all didn't care for Jeremiah said it was in the "Past" and continue with our day. When the pancakes were done some of them were burnt because of the incident but all of then were mainly cooked to their best state. Rose and Grace decorated theirs with chocolate chip on the top then adding some chocolate syrup to it finally topping it off with a thick and sweet syrup. Rose and Grace had a very very sweet blueberry syrup it was packed with vibrant and fresh fruit. Jeremiah just had some butter rich syrup with his pancake nothing else. Alexandra choose maple syrup like most normal people would. All day they went shopping at the mall for clothes, make up, perfume and some playstation games for the PS4 at home. Jeremiah was in the background struggling to hold all the bags because he was a gentlemen with quite some jokes. He held bags with different logos on them he was still maintainable though. At the trip Jeremiah saw his Friend, Luis Lara. Just as the female party came out they saw the two friends talking to each other. Rose never thought I million years that Grace’s cousin Jeremiah would ever have friends or just a Friend in general. Rose whispered to Grace “How in the world did he ever make a friend” Grace told of how they two met Grace told Rose “When Jeremiah was attending Shelley Boone Middle School he used to take the bus. After his first year and a half he met his friend Luis. They started to talk about everything together. I would always hear their conversation about something new or what they were doing.” Then, Luis greeted " Hello Rose 'Thorns' how is your evening today." Rose knew that Jeremiah was making luis practice that line for fifteen or twenty minutes they were in the store. Jeremiah ask when Grace and Rose were going back to school. Rose had almost forgotten that Summer was coming to an end. Her Heart had then nosedive into fear, she could feel her heart beats echo in her abandoned body. It was the Beginning of ninth grade
