The Rants

So yesterday I went online, and found an article. It intrigued me because it was talking about recent issues of book banning in the U.S. Now I was not expecting what I read. As I scrolled down the never ending article (as it seemed in the moment), I was about ready to scream.

"Surprisingly, parents have also challenged Dave Pikey’s “Captain Underpants.” They feel the book may not be a good influence on their children since its main characters are two fourth-grade pranksters, even though the book is supposed to be humorous with no intentions of imposing bad influences on children." (I have no right to this quote, but I did not know the author, so I didn't put it.)

I used to love those books! I almost threw my computer! It was insane. They just think it is a bad influence! Talk to people that have read these books, most aren't messed up! I just hate how some parents take away some children's freedom. They are taking away from kids who can read them; not just from their own children. It makes me so angry. Book banning is not the answer. The First Amendment says freedom of speech. Well let authors have freedom of speech, it's the law. Banning is not the answer.
