SUPREME COURT OF KOREA
"...and we are currently live here, outside of the Supreme Court where Kim Moonsik and his accomplices will be arriving soon! A year after their attempted coup against the government by holding His Majesty hostage, their trial will finally begin today. Being touted as the 'Trial of the Century', the public has been calling for a speedy announcement of their sentence after their atrocities of last year. The long wait was due to the gathering of all the needed evidence for their trial some of which has to come from the North which surprisingly cooperated with the authorities here in the South. Now, we have some multiple sources telling us that a verdict will be given already but that has not been confirmed and commented on by the government although I must say, much of this so called rumour has already spread to the public which, if I may use the saying, only added fuel to the fire. Let's get more updates from our correspondent..."
Korea's 'Trial of the Century' began as the public eagerly awaited the arrival of Kim Moonsik and his men at the Supreme Court. The gathering of all the necessary evidence was took a long time as some of it came from the North who, despite cooperating with the South, refused access to the South's investigators in entering the residence/ compound where their Leader was staying at during the attempted assassination. The North's own investigations also took longer thereby prolonging the entire process but finally, everything was ready. But, because of the public's harsh and unrelenting response to last year's attempted coup along with the attempt on the King's life (his second one, the first when he was still a baby), a petition was sent to the government calling for the immediate sentencing of the accused despite the government's stance that there will be a fair trial.
So on this fateful day, two convoys were headed for the Supreme Court: one from Seoul's maximum security prison (already nearby) and the other, from Changdeokgung Palace.
"...and are the justices influenced by the petition of the public?" asked Hyunwoo.
"They've met secretly ever since all the evidence has been gathered, sir." said Gunhee. "No one knows if they've made their final decision already, not even the Justice Minister."
"So, we will only know later?" asked Bora.
"That is possible, ma'am." said Intae. "But again, this is only the first day of the trial which may take another few months to finish. Although, I'm quite sure the judges may have heard and received the public's petition already. It's a possibility which we cannot dismiss."
"But, Moonsik will definitely be imprisoned, right?" Minhyuk asked while looking at them intently. "I don't want that man anywhere near Kihyun or our friends again!"
"Don't worry, Min, Moonsik and his allies will never be walking out free again." said Hyunwoo. "No matter how long their trial would last, the most logical conclusion would be their imprisonment or, the worst."
"I PREFER THE WORST!" shouted Minhyuk.
"Calm down, Min. And please promise me that you won't go shouting something like that later."
"Me? Shouting? Psh! I won't! Don't worry!"
"When you say that sir, that's when we get too worried." Intae said glumly.
"Watch me! HA!"
Later...
Everyone stood up as the Supreme Court's associate justices entered the hall and at the end, the Chief Justice.
"Please remain standing for Their Royal Highnesses, the Prince Regent, the Princess of Seoul and the Vice-Regent!"
Hyunwoo, Bora and Minhyuk entered the hall to which everyone bowed, except for Moonsik and his men. They took their seats in front and everyone else followed soon after. Hyunwoo's guards and Minhyuk's Blue Flame Unit all stayed outside of the hall. Minhyuk stuck out his tongue at Moonsik which infuriated him.
