THIRTEEN

To say Taehyung was surprised was an understatement. 

Indeed, the following morning, Jungkook came in the kitchen clutching his bear with one hand and sucking the thumb of the other. As soon as the little saw his caregiver, he removed the thumb from his mouth, which now glistened with saliva, and made a grabby hand to him.

"Dada!" The pitter-patter of his feet echoed around the large space as Jungkook tackled Taehyung in a hug. Taehyung, who had been sipping his coffee at the table while reading his book, almost choked on his drink but quickly recovered and embraced the younger after he had freed both of his hands.

"Good morning baby boy." Jungkook giggled as Taehyung nuzzled the other's cheek with his nose. He placed a sweet kiss on the little's forehead and held his waist with both of his hands as Jungkook's legs were placed on each side of his own.

"Did you sleep well?" He nodded vigorously as he embarked on the peculiar tale of his dream.

"M-Me and Teddy met a lot~ of frwiends," He made a big gesture with his arms to emphasize his words, Taehyung chuckling a bit as he listened to him intently, "T-There was Mwister Crwoco and Misses Piggy! Oh a-and the wittle doggy!" 

"Wow~" Taehyung exclaimed, "That's such a wonderful dream baby!" Jungkook got a little flustered, even though he didn't quite understand what 'wonderful' meant.

"Now, how about we feel that empty stomach of yours huh?" Jungkook squealed as Taehyung tickled his sides, squirming on the older's lap. Taehyung placed him onto the ground since he was afraid the little would fall and raised from the chair.

Twenty minutes later a bowl was placed in front of Jungkook, who was already seated. Taehyung followed suit shortly after as he finished to make his toast, and sat beside Jungkook at one edge of the table. 

Just from looking at the milk dripping down the younger's chin, Taehyung knew he wouldn't finish his bowl without making a huge mess. He took the matter into his own hands and asked Jungkook for the spoon. And so, the caregiver fed him spoonfuls of cornflakes as he bit into his toast in between.

When the last cereals were eaten by the little, Taehyung was quick to dab at his chin with a napkin he had put beside his plate. He made a mental note to buy a bib. When the dishes were all washed, Taehyung came to see Jungkook who was sitting in the living room watching Paw Patrol.

"Hey Bub, Do you want to go buy some new stuffies and toys?" Of course, the caregiver was also planning to buy him other necessary stuff like onesies and bottles but he didn't mention it.

"Yes!" Jungkook exclaimed in delight and jumped onto his feet to join the front door, but Taehyung stopped him.

"No, no, no. Now you're going to take a bath, and after we're going to the mall okay?" Jungkook whined and stomped his foot on the ground.

"No~! I wanna go now!" Taehyung cursed himself for not waiting after he was washed to tell him.  It was way too early for a battle.

"Baby... Remember your rules. What do they say?" Jungkook grumbled inaudible words as a frown adorned his features.

"Use your words baby, what do they say?" Taehyung was quite saddened to discipline the younger this soon, but he knew it was necessary for him to understand.

"A'ways lwisten to Daddy." The little sniffled as a tear of frustration rolled down his cheek. He crossed his arms upon his chest and turned his head away from his caregiver. With a sigh, Taehyung grabbed Jungkook's chin and gently moved his head so that he was facing him.

"I'm doing this for your own good baby boy. I don't want you to be all dirty and icky. I promise you we'll go shopping after okay? Can you please be a good boy for Daddy?" Slowly, Jungkook nodded his head. Taehyung pulled him in a short hug and placed a soft kiss on his forehead before he instructed him to go wait for him in the bathroom.

Once the younger was all clean, they both dressed in casual clothes. Jungkook was complaining that he wasn't comfortable in his jeans, but Taehyung reassured him they would buy new clothes for him. Finally, they headed out the door after Jungkook went to grab Teddy just before they left, claiming that the plushie would be lonely.

Jungkook was feeling quite overwhelmed by the large crowd moving around the mall, and he was clutching his caregiver's hand tightly with large, frightened eyes. Fortunately, his nervousness soon died down when they entered the Toys"R"us.

"Daddy!! Lwook at all the cwolors!!" Some people surrounded them glanced at Jungkook with a funny expression, but Taehyung was quick to glare at them, making sure the little wasn't noticing them.

The pair ended up in an alley full with plushies, making Jungkook's pupils grow larger with wonder. He chose a fluffy pink bunny along with a hippo and a lion. Taehyung also picked some necessary items like pacifiers, bottles, sip cups and two fluffy blankets with cute designs on them.

As for the clothes, he had ordered some onesies and soft clothing pieces for littles online last night when Jungkook was asleep. Since the company was located close from here, he hoped they would arrive this evening.

Both caregiver and little entered their apartment with happiness filling their hearts. Taehyung was glad he could spoil his baby boy, since money wasn't that much of a problem with his paying job. As for Jungkook, he was really happy with his new toys and stuffies.

When Jungkook's bedtime came, the little didn't complain and slipped into his pajamas after he had brushed his teeth. As he laid down under the covers, he tried to hug all his stuffies, but was forced to only keep two of them in his arms since there was too many.

Taehyung got down on his knees beside his bed and stroked his hair a bit.

"Did you have fun today my little prince?" Jungkook hummed.

"Yes Daddy, t'ank you~" He leaned over and surprised the older with a peck on his cheek. He stayed dumbfound for a bit before he imitated the little's gesture but this time on the forehead. 

Before he closed the younger's door completely, he glanced at him with a soft smile and thanked destiny for putting this angel on his path.
