Your POV
"Ready as I'll ever be." I replied. "The two of us were endorsed by the Champion himself! We'll show you just what that means!" Hop exclaimed. "Well, if you insist...Team Yell's gonna teach you kids that the Gym Challenge's no joke! You better not be yell-ow!" The first grunt said, crossing his arms. "What'd this other kid have to come waltzin' up for, eh? I just wanted to knock off challengers one at a time..." The second grunt mumbled.

Both of the grunts sent out their Pokemon, those Pokemon being a Thievul and a Linoone. "This'll be the perfect opportunity to use Magisa!" I thought. I threw out Magisa while Hop sent out his trusty Wooloo. "Alright Magisa, use Disarming Voice!" "Wooloo, Double Kick!" "Thievul, Snarl!" "Linoone, Night Slash!" The Night Slash almost knocked out Wooloo, Disarming Voice doing the same with Thievul, Double Kick brought Linoone's health below halfway, and Snarl did a bit of damage to both Wooloo and Magisa.

Everyone called the same moves. Linoone knocked out Wooloo, but Magisa's Disarming Voice knocked out Linoone and Thievul. One of the grunts sent out a Pancham, the other one sending out a Liepard. Hop proceeded to throw out his Corvisquire. "Disarming Voice!" "Pluck!" "Low Sweep!" ""Growl!" Pluck knocked out the Pancham after it used Low Sweep and Disarming Voice knocked out the Liepard after it used Growl. "Are you gonna yell at us 'cause we up an' yell-lost?" "If I's used a horn, would I have had a better chance of winnin'?" The two grunts said.

I high-fived Hop, giving him a closed eyed smile. "We sure do make a great team." I said. I opened my eyes, my smile still on my face, and saw that Hop nodded with cheeks that were pinker than earlier. I then walked up to Magisa and sprayed a potion on her. "There you go!" I returned her to her pokeball and stood back up, facing the two Team Yell grunts. "That little mug's the Champion's little brother...Guess that's what you get when your older brother's not useless..." One of the grunts trailed off.

"I know we're Team Yell, but we'll leave quietly once we're beaten..." The second grunt mumbled. They then ran off, leaving me alone with Hop. "Nice one, (Y/n)! That's my friend and rival for you!" Hop complimented as he ruffled my hair a bit. "Hop, I just fixed my hair earlier!" I whined, trying to fix my now messy hair. He chuckled a bit before sticking his hands in his pockets. "Now then...Where could Kabu have gone off to? Let's keep going. Maybe he's further in!" The purple haired male then ran off in look for the Fire type specialist.

I ran after him, Bolt following, and we eventually saw Kabu with a Carkol, they both were standing in front of two Team Yell grunts. "Are those the same grunts from before?" I thought, looking at Hop who was right beside me. "Thank you for helping out with my training, Team Yell! But I must say...it's unforgivable for you to get in the way of a Carkol hard at work!" Kabu said. "We weren't gettin' in its way! We were tryin' to cheer it on!" The first grunt defended. "Still, you did a number on us in that Pokemon battle, so...it's time for Team Yell to scarper and give a morale boost elsewhere!" The second grunt said before the two ran off.

"Cheering is one thing, but one shouldn't get in the way of honest work!" Kabu said, shaking his head a bit. 'Goooooor!' The Carkol cried. "That's Kabu...Man, he's wicked! No wonder he's the Fire type Gym Leader!" Hop exclaimed as we walked up to Kabu. The older man turned around to face the purple haired Trainer and I. "Ah, you are two of the Trainers endorsed by Leon! Hop and (Y/n), am I right?" Kabu asked. "That would be us sir!" I replied. He seemed to chuckle a bit. "Great! I'm just training right up until the last moment so that I can guarantee the perfect match when I face you Gym Challengers!" Kabu declared.

"I specialize in Fire type Pokemon, and the Water type Pokemon in Galar Mine No. 2 are the perfect opponents to train against!" He informed, placing his hand over his heart. "Regardless, it's getting late. Just go straight once you get out of this mine, and you'll reach Motostoke. Get a good rest at the hotel, and make sure you're both in your top condition!" He then turned to Carkol. "Come on, Carkol. Time for you to head on home, too. I'll make sure you get there safely." Carkol cried and he rolled off, Kabu jogging off.
