First Meeting

"Sorry. . . I got late," I told the person sitting in front of me while pulling the chair for myself.

"It's okay," He said with a smile, "I hope you didn't have any problem finding me."

"No," I passed him a smile and continued, "Actually I overslept that's why I got late. I'm sorry once again."

"That's fine."

Suddenly his phone started ringing. So, he excused himself and went a little away to attend the call.

Let me introduce myself first I am Nandini. Nandini Murthy and the person I was talking till now is Manik Malhotra.

I have come here to see him as my family has chosen him for me. He is damn handsome I must say. Any girl will fall for him in a second.

But I can't. . . . .

I don't want to get married right now. But my family is not ready to wait. I have mainly come here to break this alliance.

Anyhow. . . . .

Manik came back after attending his call.

M: Sorry. Urgent call. I had to take that.

N (passing a small smile): It's okay.

M: What will you take?

N: Cappuccino.

M: Okay.

Manik called the waiter and gave order. We are sitting face to face but didn't say anything.

May be we both didn't know what to say!!!

Manik was the first one to break the silence after the coffee was served, "So, you don't like anyone?"

N: If I had , then I wouldn't been here.

M: That's true. Can I say something?

N: Sure.

M: Usually when girls come to meet a boy for marriage, they try to look different. I mean in a good way. But you. . . . .

(Nandini's attire)

N: Will you pay my parlor expenses everyday?

M: Why? Where did it come from?

N: After marriage most of the time I will be like this only and you have to see me like this only. You will not see me with make up much. So, isn't it better to see me like this and get married?

Manik looked at me frowning. But j was jumping inside. I am sure, he won't marry me. Firstly he isn't impressed by my look, then I am behaving like a complete brat in front of him.

But I noticed he was checking me from head to toe. I was feeling nervous. I was avoiding his gaze. I was looking all the places apart from him.

M: Didn't you like me?

N: Did you like me?

M: You always ask questions like this?

I sat straight. I think I am behaving really bad. I should control.

N: Sorry.

M: You want to break this alliance?

I looked at him with my big doe eyes.

How did ke know?

M: Is there someone else?

I nodded nervously.

M: I have come here after knowing everything about you.

Manik smiled. Seeing his smile, I was sure, he knew I am single. I looked at him being helpless.

M: The coffee was good, wasn't it?

N: Hmm.

M: Now tell me why you don't want to get married?

N: Actually I want to compete my graduation first. After marriage. . .

M: You don't have to worry about that. You can continue your studies after marriage also. I would have said no for this alliance, if you didn't have the mole on your face. I have already said yes for marriage.

N (surprised): When?

M: When I went to receive the phone call.

N: You???

M: I have heard that the boys who talks less ,they  get talkative wife. I like that. Then that's it for today?

His voice has some king of magic. I feel peace when I look into his eyes. They held so much in them.

No, I can't loose him.

Manik has already got up and went till the door. I stood up and shouted from back.

N: Your number???

Manik turned back and gave me a beautiful smile. I can literally die for that smile. I think I have already fallen for his this smile.

M: So!!! The marriage is happening??? Don't worry I have your number. I will call you at night.

He left.

I am watching him as far as I can. I can only see happiness till I can see.
