Waking up alone was something I wasn't used too. Natsu always slept right next to me coming up with some stupid excuse as to why he had to. I know it was just because my bed is comfy but deep down I wished it was because of me. My feeling for that boy just never seem to go away so today is the day I will make those feelings clear.
After having a nice hot bath and getting changed into my regular attire I strut into the kitchen ready to make breakfast. However it seems two mischievous partners have decided to do that for me.
"Kyaaaa what are you guys doing in the kitchen"
"Lushee we made you breakfast" the blue cat flashed me a big grin. This was weird, I had never woken up to a fully made breskfast. My eyes landed on the pancakes which seemed a bit burnt but the opened chocolate packet nearby told me they were choc chip, my favourite.
" Your always making us food so it was time to pay you back" the pink haired boy scratched his neck.
"You boys are too sweet to me" I walked over to them giving happy a scruff on the head. I did the same to Natsu but then let my hand move to his cheek. His facial expression went from confused to seductive in a few seconds letting me believe I had a chance. I don't know what was going through me but I shut my eyes and went for a kiss. However what I felt was not the warmth of someones lips but the sweet taste of a pancake. Opening my eyes Natsu was blushing furiously and had stuck a fork with some pancake on it into my mouth.
Gobbling down the burnt but still delicious pancake I smiled trying to hide my embarrassment. Was he just nervous or did he just not want to kiss me. I was always afraid of facing that truth, the truth that deep down I was just his friend.
"These are crazy burnt you know" I stated.
"But I still appreciate the effort boys" I walked away pancake still in my mouth my face fuming red. However I wasn't going to let it get the best of me, I would try again until I was sure of how he felt. Grabbing my whip and keys we headed off to complete our mission and I had the secret intentions of completing mine.

"Natsu be careful" I quickly Lucy kicked one of the bandits coming up behind him.
"Thanks Luce" He gave me a wink before continuing to fight. Our backs pressed together we took out the bandits like a true team. A true partnership but I really wanted to be more.
Of course we easily took out all of the bandits no thanks to happy cowering in the corner but nevertheless we completed our mission. Natsu managed to burn down half of the town so whether we would get our reward money was still uncertain.
"Say how much reward money are we getting?" Natsu slumped his arm around my shoulder as we walked to the clients house. Just the small friendly gesture made my heart tingle.
"I think it was about 2000 Jewel so 1000 each"
"But isn't your rent due by the end of this week"
"God don't remind me please" I sweat dropped remembering the cruel landlady who would stop at nothing to get my money.
"Well you can have my half of the reward as well then" The boy stopped in his tracks and turned to me.
"Its the least I can do for you, I mean you did save my ass back there" He chuckled. God his laugh was adorable.
"What is with you and being so sweet today I do not understand"
"Well you are going to have to pay me back for all this sweetness some how some day" he wiggled his eyebrows suggestively. That was weird, was he flirting with me.
