The Magician had already used his special skill at the beginning of the game. He was not allowed to play anymore.
The Prisoner decided not to use his special skill, and passed.
The Oracle decided not to use her special skill, and passed.
The Queen observed the pictures on the screen for a while, her gaze lingering over some players' faces, but also passed.
The Scholar could not play yet.
The Thief continued his strategy. As he had suspected it, the roles remained the same, despite the exchange. He took the card that had been given to him back, while crossing his fingers, hoping that his invisible ally would give him the opportunity to play again.
The Jack selected without hesitation the Thief's card, praying for the latter to have a strategy in accordance with his theory.
The Thief exulted. His knight in shining armour had came to his aid! Delighted that the plan was happening as expected, he exchanged his card with Logan's, curious to see what fate had in store for the next morning.
The Joker got a call from the Queen again. He answered.
"Well, my dear friend, have you thought about how you would spice up our conversation?"
"Something's tormenting me, my Queen."
"Please, express yourself."
"Do you, by any chance, have a revenge to slake, just like in the little story that gave birth to the game?"
"Hmm, maybe..."
"What terrible things have you been through? Love disillusions?"
"Are you trying to check if I'm one of the two idiots from our group that were in relationship?"
"Not necessarily. There are lots of secrets that eat up even the most innocents among us. Love often wreaks havoc. Besides, the fact you called them "idiots" won't make me stop considering them as suspects. You may have pretended it."
The Queen kept quiet during a few seconds. The Joker smiled. He knew he had touched a nerve.
"In that case, I don't see the point in asking me that question."
"I'm only trying to find your motives. The better to understand you with, my Queen."
"Don't make fun of me, Joker."
"You didn't answer. Love disillusions, yes or no?"
The Queen took a deep breath.
"It might be. But even if it was the case, it might not be related to my schemes. If you think about it, Joker, it would justify one murder, not eight."
"It nevertheless gives me an interesting lead to explore."
"Oh well, good luck then! You'll go far with this tiny bread-crumb."
"Hansel and Gretel however managed to find their house with it."
The Queen guffawed.
"With pebbles, indeed. But not bread-crumbs."
As the five minutes had passed, the call cut out.
The Executioner could not play yet.
On the screens then appeared the following sentence: "Do you want to enter the Queen's identity?"
All the players selected the box "No".
