"With the 6th pick of the 2019 WNBA draft, the Dallas Wings select Tyanna Yates-Woods from the University of Oklahoma."

Ty stood up in a purple fitted dress chosen by me. She wore bright yellow sandal heels. Her face was beat to the gods. Her straightened curls flowed midway down her back. I watched her in pure lust, as she stood up next to me. Her body was amazing. I couldn't wait to get her home and get her out of the dress, with her fine ass.

The first thing she did was turn to me for a hug and kiss. "I'm so proud of you, T. You made it, baby." I hugged her so tight, as tears flowed on the biggest day of her life. "I love you forever, boo," she whispered into my ear before kissing me again. She hugged her mom, dad, and her siblings, and dapped up her agent before walking up on stage for her jersey photo with the commissioner. We all stood and cheered for her.

Ty

I did it.

*********two weeks later*********

I stood in the mirror of my brand new home admiring my curves and my muscle tone. I'd picked out a navy floral print one shoulder jumpsuit and a pair of white heels for Shayla and I's celebration dinner. It was sort of a hybrid celebration for my draft selection and our birthday. We'd also purchased a home in Irving, Texas, a suburb of Dallas. We hadn't moved everything in yet, but we had furniture. It was projected that I'd go to Dallas, so we'd begin shopping two months ago. We put in an offer contingent that I was drafted there.

Our closing fell on the weekend of our birthday, so it was perfect. Shayla had planned an extravagant dinner with our families to celebrate so many accomplishments at once. Because that's what she did. She always made sure to celebrate us.

We had less than two weeks to graduation and I'd be officially moving back to Dallas. Remember the guy that my dad knew? Well after my internship, he offered me 2% ownership in his company. Of course I took it, because 2% of almost $100 million is...well you do the math! Me and Ty were GOOD! He fully believed in my vision and apparently he and my father went further back than I knew. My dad also ended up leaving his company to work there as a remote Senior Director of IT, meaning he managed the IT department for the entire company.

I opened a small office space in Dallas for my dad and I. He traveled to OKC as necessary to perform his duties, but mostly we both handled business from our remote office, and it was nice. My app was on the market and it was doing quite well. We have expanded to a full website with full capabilities and have several large metro school districts on contract, with plans to expand outside of the metro throughout the next calendar year. I was doing everything I said I'd do. The best part about it all was that Ty didn't have to play overseas during the offseason for money, because we were set. The WNBA pays pennies. Although, there were discussions of a new bargaining agreement for the players to potentially make more money. WNBA players had been fighting for years for better pay and marketing, and it seemed like it was finally paying off.

At this point in my life, I am happy. I've got my degree, I've got my man, and me and my best friend are back in the same city. I'm in the process of looking for a job. In all honesty, I kinda bullshitted my last semester away. I didn't attend a single career fair. The good thing was that Bobby was gainfully employed and just like he was when I met him, he was making money. The man didn't fuck around when it came to his career goals. He moved to Denton with me and we got an apartment together after he graduated. He found an amazing company in North Dallas and commuted to work for an entire year while I finished my last year of school. He was supportive, hardworking, and maybe the cleanest, most organized man I'd met in my life. I knew a proposal was coming soon. He was trying to play it cool, but I picked up on the little subtle hints about marriage. We'd talked about buying and housed and having kids and all the fun shit adults do. I didn't have a single thing to complain about because life was good.
