Chapter 51

"Lawyer?" He asked in disbelief

"Yup" i said with a wide smile

"You?" I asked then he chuckled and turned to look at me

"Electrical engineer" he replied

"But the question you're supposed to ask is "whats your job?"" He explained

"Ughh show off" I joked falling on the bed

We were seated in my room with him on the chair and i on the bed with bunch of chocolates he got laying on one side of the bed,

We decided to do questions and answers since we had nothing else to do,

I cant even remember the last time i raised my hand to do any chore,

"Do you even know the work i do?" He asked again

"You've never told me" I replied taking a bite from the diary milk i was taking

He then stretched his hand and i handed him a piece

"So sad a wife doesn't know her husband's job" he said making me choke a little

"You never cared to tell me" I replied taking a sip from the water close to me

"Okay you next" i said looking at him

He swallowed what he was chewing and looked at me then he paused before thinking

"Whats your favorite color?" He asked and i smiled

"Red" we said all at once and i raised my head to give him a surprised look

"How did you know?" I asked then he smiled and continued

"I know everything about you Jad, the only mew thing I learned today is that you want to become a lawyer" he explained

We did lots of questions and answers that I started drifting in sleep mid way and didn't even know when i passed out,

When i woke up he wasn't there and all the chocolates were placed back neatly inside the box

I went and prayed then sat back down and called him but he wasn't picking so i went out to meet my grandmother

She made me lay on her lap as usual,

"Baby you need your hair made" she said when my cap came off revealing my unmade hair

I was jumping inside because its been long that i had a good hair made,

I was seated in the parlor watching when a woman came to make my hair and did henna for me,

I was so excited because it's been long that i did all those and i was so anxious to see sultan so that he can see the henna but he didn't come around or called back,

Throughout dinner i was just turning waiting to see if he will appear but he didn't

The next morning Mama told me we were leaving at 1, we were going back to Zaria,

I went and took my bath because i met my things already packed and taken outside,

I called him again but still no answer and i was shy to ask Mama where he was,

Yes Mama is the queen and she forbid me from calling her your highness,

I was quiet throughout the journey I didn't even know when we reached because i slept throughout,

Around 6 i was bored so I decided to go to Amlas place,
