all of the sudden I startled; my eyes opened wide.

we have to be quiet.
I heard him whisper; his unexpectedly warm breath touching my pale skin.

he had never been this close. his horrifying and direful face right in front of mine. I couldn't tell how many centimeters kept us apart; it was only a few.

I could feel every breath he took and I knew he would feel mine.

go away. leave.
I said, in a harsh but quiet voice.

I'm not going anywhere.
are his words, followed by my inaudible mumble in the darkness. in an instant I crossed my arms.

I don't have time for this.
I told him.
For what?
the demon asked; I responded with vaguely gestures. he knew I meant exactly this.

silence.

why did you let me win again?
I asked then; not daring to look away from his ghastly eyes.

you could have died.
while he spoke, my eyes widened unbelieving.

that's the plan, Idiot! Urgh, go back to hell.
saying so, I turned my face away from his, which still seemed to never have heard of personal space.

and leave you here alone?
he asked; turning his head slightly, before he shook it in response to his own words.
