Seven Minutes In Heaven
Hinata's POV
"You know, if Daichi and Suga were here, we wouldn't be allowed to play a game like that..."
Ennoshita-senpai said with a worried glance at the door, as if the two would walk into the room any second. We were all at Kageyama's house for a sleepover, and we were about to play seven minutes in heaven. Kageyama didn't like the idea of everyone being over, but his parents were out of town, and I eventually convinced him.
Me, all the first years, and some of the second years on Karasuno's volleyball team were all sitting in a circle on the ground. We all stared at Kageyama's closet as Noya talked rapidly about the game we were about to play. It seemed alright... I mean, its not like you had to do anything bad when you were in the closet...
"So yeah! Get in the closet, do whatever you want for seven minutes, and then you're out! Who's playing?"
Noya asked. Everyone agreed, but some people were hesitant.
"So... who's first?"
I asked. The room went silent.
"Aren't we gonna spin a bottle or something?"
Tanaka asked with a worried look. Noya shrugged.
"We could play it like that. But it's also fun to just vote and select two people at random!"
Noya said with a grin.
So that's what we did.
"I nominate Tsukishima."
Kageyma said. He hated Tsukishima, so that wasn't surprising.
"Idiot..."
Tsukishima mumbled, glaring at Kageyama.
"Yeah, alright. But with who?"
I asked. I looked around the circle. Ennoshita spoke up.
"Yamaguchi."
He said. Yamaguchi was looking down, but when Ennoshita said his name, his head snapped up.
"Whaaa?!"
Yamaguchi asked. Tanaka laughed.
"Yeah! I vote for Tsukishima and Yamaguchi!"
He yelled. Everyone agreed.
"What! But I- hate the dark! I don't want to be stuck in a closet with Tsuki for-"
Yamaguchi started. But Tsukishima cut him off by dragging him into the closet with a sigh.
Kageyma's POV
Tsukishima pushed Yamaguchi into the closet. I heard him mumble...
"The sooner we get this done, the sooner I can get back at Kageyama."
I glared at Tsukishima as he closed the closet door.
"Annnddd, the time startes now!"
Noya said, looking at the clock. It read '9:30.'
We talked amongst ourselves for five minutes, but then we heard a loud banging noise come from the closet.
And then we heard Yamaguchi make a weird, loud noise.
"Did he just-"
Ennoshita cut himself off. Everyone stared at the closet door.
"Alright, I need to get to the bottom of this."
Noya said. Hinata stared at him.
"But you said we can't open the door until the times up!"
Hinata protested. Noya shrugged.
"There's only a minute left."
He said.
And everyone, including me, decided to go to the closet door too.
Tanaka reached over and slowly opened the door. We all didn't know what to expect.
But what we got was the worst.
Yamaguchi was on the floor...
Laughing.
And Tsukishima was just grinning at us evily.
Turns out, it was a hoax.
And Tsukishima's idea.
Apparently, they knocked over a box, and Tsukishima got Yamaguchi to moan to make everyone think something was going on.
Yamaguchi thought it was so funny.
We didn't.
"We though Tsukiyama was finally coming true!"
Noya yelled.
"What the hell is a Tsukiyama?"
Tsukishima asked.
Hinata's POV
After Tsukishima and Yamaguchi's little trick, it was time to pick another two victims.
"I have a nominee."
Tsukishima said.
"Alright, shoot."
Kageyama said. He looked confident, but I could tell he was nervous.
"Kageyma and Hinata."
Tsukishima said. I turned bright red. I didn't dare look at Kageyama.
"What?! I am not spending time with that idiot for 7 minutes!"
I yelled. Kageyma glared at me.
"Shut up, boke!"
Kageyma yelled.
"You shut up!"
I screamed.
"I could kick you out!"
Kageyma huffed.
"No you can't!"
I protested.
"Its my house, dumbass!"
Kageyma yelled.
"Both of you just shut up!"
Ennoshita yelled.
"Saved by our mom in training..."
I heard Tsukishima mumble. Yamaguchi giggled.
"We haven't voted yet!"
Ennoshita continued, ignoring Tsukishima.
"Right!"
Noya said. Then he grinned at me.
"But all in favor, say I."
"I!"
"I!"
"I."
"IIIII!!!"
"I."
I pouted. Kageyma just rolled his eyes.
"Whatever!"
He said, getting up. He stormed into the closet.
"See you guys in seven minutes, I guess..."
I said. Then I got up, walked into the closet, and closed the door.
Kageyama's POV
It was dark.
Not that dark, but dark.
I sat down on my closet floor and waited for my eyes to adjust to the darkness.
I hated the idea of being stuck in a closet with Hinata. Mostly because I didn't want to do anything I'd regret...
I felt a light weight beside me. I looked through the darkness to see Hinata sitting beside me.
"I'm kinda scared of the dark."
He told me. I wanted to wrap my arms around him, but I didn't want to reveal my feelings. Not even in the slightest way. So I rolled my eyes and huffed.
"Dumbass."
I said. Hinata puched me in the shoulder.
"Shut up, Bakeyama!"
Hinata said. I rolled my eyes again.
"Whatever."
There was silence for a few minutes. Then...
"Kageyama."
Hinata said. I looked over at him.
"What?"
I asked. Hinata ran his hand through his orange hair.
"I need to tell you something."
He said. I didn't say anything, I just nodded.
"We're friends, right?"
Hinata asked. I glared at him.
"Boke, that's not a statement, that's a-"
Hinata cut me off.
"Just answer."
He said. He sounded... scared. Of course me and Hinata were friends. We argued a lot, but we trusted each other, and when we did get along, it sure was a sight to see.
"Yeah, we're friends."
I said. Hinata nodded.
"Ok. And would anything... like what I'm about to tell you... change that?"
Hinata asked. I shook my head.
"Well, I don't know what you're about to tell me, but I'm sure it'll be fine."
I said. Hinata took a deep breath.
"O-ok."
He said. There was a beat or two of silence.
"Kageyma, I-"
The door of the closet swung open.
"Times up!"
Tanaka yelled. I looked at Hinata. He sighed and got up. He made his way out of the closet.
"Hey, wait up!"
I said to Hinata. I followed him out.
"What were you about to tell me?"
I asked, accidentally rather loudly. Everyone looked to me, then Hinata. Noya grinned.
"Yeah, Hinata! What were you gonna tell him! Please enlighten us!"
Noya yelled. Hinata turned red and turned to me.
"Kageyma!"
He whined. I put my hands up in defense.
"Sorry!"
I said. Tsukishima stared at Hinata.
"Now I'm curious. What's up?"
He asked. Hinata looked at everyone staring at him. His face was filled with fear.
What was he going to tell me that was so hard to tell to the rest of the team?
"Hey, leave him alone..."
Ennoshita said. But Hinata had already made a move.
He ran out of the room.
Hinata's POV
I sprinted out of the room and to the nearest bathroom. I ran in and locked the door. I took a few deep breaths.
In, out, in, out.
I sighed.
That was close.
"Hinata? Are you ok?"
I heard a voice ask.
"Yeah, I'm fine. Who is it?"
I asked.
"Kageyma."
The voice said.
He was the last person I wanted to see.
My plan to tell him how I felt didn't seem like such a great idea anymore.
"Ah, ok."
I said.
Silence.
"Can I come in?"
Kageyma asked me. I panicked.
"No! I'm taking a shit!"
I yelled.
Silence again.
A long silence.
"I don't hear anything."
Kageyma said. I blushed.
"Pervert!"
I yelled. Kageyma groaned.
"Just open the door, dumbass!"
He yelled. I sighed and unlocked the door. I sat down on the closed toilet seat.
Kageyma opened the door and walked inside the bathroom. He closed the door behind him.
"Hinata... what were you going to tell me in the closet?"
Kageyma asked me.
Kageyma's POV
Hinata turned pink.
"Oh! Uhhh, I was just going to tell you that I'm... really happy that we're friends."
Hinata said. I tilted my head suspiciously. I shrugged.
"Ok."
I said.
"We should get back."
I added, walking to the door. I was about to open it, when...
"Wait."
Hinata said. I turned around.
"I lied."
Hinata said. My heard broke.
"You're not happy that we're friends?"
I asked. Hinata shot up.
"No! Of course I'm happy we're friends! It's just..."
Hinata paused.
"That wasn't actually what I was going to tell you."
He said. I stared at him, waiting for him to continue. He looked down at his feet.
"I uh... I was gonna tell you that I... I have a-"
Hinata gulped.
"I-"
Hinata stopped again. I heard him gulp.
"I have a crush on you."
My jaw dropped. Hinata looked up at me. I walked up to him.
"A-Ahhh! Please don't be mad!"
Hinata yelled I pushed him against the wall.
"I'm sorry I'm sorry I'm so-"
Before Hinata could finish, I kissed him. His lips were soft, sweet. They were everything I imagined them being like.
I wrapped my arm around his waist and I put the other behind his neck, pulling him closer. He had tensed up at first, but at this point he was relaxed. And soon, I was too. I had completely melted into the kiss.
And so, neither of us heard the door I forgot to lock open.
*Snap!*
Hey, that sounded like a...
"Annnnddd, save."
A voice said. I broke away from Hinata to see Tsukishima holding his phone, amied right at us.
I took my arms off Hinata.
"Annnddddddd, send."
Tsukishima added.
"I just sent that to all the people I know. That includes people from other teams."
Tsukishima said. I stood there, shocked.
"TSUKISHIMA!"
I screamed. He turned around and ran off. I chased him out the door.
Hinata's POV
I watched Kageyma chase Tsukishima out of the bathroom. To be honest, I didn't really care that Tsukishima had a photo. I was just happy I got to kiss Kageyma. I was amazed that he felt the same. He didn't exactly say it, but I knew. I heard a loud bang come from downstairs.
The last thing I heard before I exited the bathroom was Kageyma.
"TSUKISHIMA, IF YOU DON'T DELETE THAT PHOTO, I WILL THROW YOUR PHONE OUT THE WINDOW!"
