Matchmaker
Noya's POV
"Those two."
I stated to some of the boys on the Karasuno volleyball team.
"Those two are in love, and you can't change my mind."
I added. It was a pretty normal afternoon at volleyball practice, but then, after a few minutes, the two parents of Karasuno started flirting.
"Well duh. But we can't force them to get together."
Ennoshita said. Hinata nodded.
"Right! They should get together naturally like me and Kageyama did!"
Hinata said. I couldn't stop my lips from twisting into a smile. Thank god those two idiots finally got together.
"Yeah, for once, Hinata-boke is right."
Kageyma said. I thought about their words.
"Yeah, alright. But does it look like they're going to do it themselves?"
I asked, pointing to Sugamama and Dadchi. Everyone followed my gaze.
Suga's POV
"You're like, amazing, so shut up Daichi."
I said to my best friend and teammate. Daichi was trying to tell me that he was the reason we lost our last practice match last week, and I was practically dying. He was the foundation of our team. We wouldn't be such an amazing team without him.
"Yeah yeah, alright. Well, you're an amazing setter."
Daichi said. I grinned.
"Well you're an amazing spiker."
"Well you're an amazing teammate."
"Well you're absolutely gorgeous."
"Well you're a- wait, what?"
I felt my face go hot.
Well...
That wasn't supposed to come out.
"Whoops..."
I said. We both stood in silence.
"Uh, I'm gonna..."
I started.
"Yeah, I'm just heading that way..."
Daichi said.
Noya's POV
We watched as the two walked to opposite ends of the gym and had mini mental breakdowns.
"Idiots..."
Asahi mumbled. I beamed.
"SEE? EVEN UNCLE-ASAHI AGREE'S WITH ME! We need to get those two together!"
I yelled. Asahi smiled softly at me.
"Ok, I kinda agree. But is it really our job to play matchmaker?"
Tanaka asked. I grinned.
"Yes."
I said proudly. Tsukishima stared at me.
"Worst comes to worst, we blame it on Noya."
No POV
"Alright, here's the plan."
Noya said, holding out a sheet of paper.
"I looked on the Internet for some tips, and added one or two of my own points."
Noya said. After most of Karasuno had decided to try and get Daichi and Suga together, Noya had made a whole plan. It was only a day or two after their conversation, but Noya was a quick thinker. Even if his thinking wasn't logical.
Ennoshita took the sheet from Noya.
"Alright, this seems kind of dumb."
Ennoshita said, still not 100% sure if he liked the idea of interfering with his parents lives.
Asahi took the sheet from Ennoshita. It was passed around the circle.
How To Play Matchmaker~ By the most amazing Libero
-Make sure they have stuff in common before getting them together.
-Get them to purposely run into each other.
-Leave them alone whenever they start talking (Don't be a third wheel.)
-Set them up on a date and see where it goes (But don't let them know its a date)
Extra note: We should probably make sure that they aren't both straight. Idk how we're supposed to do that though. Whatever, we'll figure it out

"Huh, its not that bad..."
Kageyama said.
"It could use some work, but I think we can do it."
Asahi said. Tsukishima rolled his eyes.
"Ok, its not like I care, but shouldn't the first step be using that extra note? We should make sure they aren't straight before hooking them up."
Tsukishima said.
"Tsukki's right! But they already flirt with each other right?"
Yamaguchi asked. Hinata nodded.
"They do, and it's obvious. But we should check."
Hinata said. Tanaka grinned.
"Let's make teams!"
He suggested.
"Alright, easy. Team mom is Asahi, Ennoshita, Hinata, and Yamaguchi. Team dad is me, Tanaka, Tsukishima, and Kageyama."
Noya said.
"Please don't involve me in this..."
Tsukishima said.
"Please don't make me work with Tsukishima!"
Kageyama protested.
"Too late."
Noya said.
"Alright. First step. Discretely make sure that they're either gay or bisexual."
Noya told everyone. The teams split up. Daichi was talking to Coach Ukai, and Suga was putting up the net.
Step One
Team Mom
"Need any help with the net?"
Asahi asked Suga. Suga smiled and nodded.
"Sure."
He said. Asahi went to the other end of the net.
"So."
Yamaguchi said. Suga stopped what he was doing to look at three of his teammates. Man, they were scary for first and second years.
"Do you support the LGBTQ community?"
Hinata asked. Suga laughed.
"Of course I do! You and Kageyama are dating, for starters. I'm bisexual, one of my favorite YouTubers is transgender, my friend is-"
Suga said. Ennoshita cut him off.
"Wait, you're bi?"
Ennoshita asked. Suga nodded.
"Yeah. Why?"
Suga asked. The three boys grinned.
"What?"
Suga asked. They all just walked away. Suga shrugged and finished up with the net.
"So?"
Asahi asked.
"He's bi."
Yamaguchi said. Asahi smiled.
"Great!"
He said.
Step One
Team Dad
"Alright, how should we discretely do this?"
Kageyama asked.
"Hmm..."
Noya said aloud, thinking about the best way to go about this.
"Hey, where is Tsukishima going?"
Tanaka asked. Tsukishima heard them and turned around.
"Getting this over and done with."
Tsukishima said. They all watched in shock as Tsukishima walked up to Daichi, who was still talking to Ukai.
"Are you gay?"
Tsukishima asked, interrupting their conversation. Daichi's eyes widned. Coach Ukai just glared at Tsukishima.
"That's a little rude to ask, don't you think?"
Ukai asked Tsukishima. Tsukishima just continued to stare at Daichi. Daichi looked back at him.
"Uh- well- ok. Yeah, I'm gay. Why are you asking?"
Daichi asked. Tsukishima rolled his eyes.
"I don't know."
He said. He then walked away with no further explanation. Daichi and Coach Ukai watched him walk away.
"What was that about?"
Ukai asked. Daichi shrugged.
"Who knows. Those kids are weird."
No POV
"Ok, what was that?"
Noya asked. Tsukishima glared at Noya.
"I got the answer to your question, didn't I?"
Tsukishima asked. Yamaguchi looked at Noya.
"What happened?"
He asked. Noya opened his mouth to speak, but Kageyama cut him off.
"Saltyshima over here just waltzed up to Daichi and straight up asked him if he was gay."
Kageyma said. Hinata nodded.
"Ok, well what did he say?"
Hinata asked.
"He said he was."
Tanaka said.
"Great! Suga's bisexual!"
Ennoshita said. Everyone was beaming.
"Alright, let's wait till tomorrow to do the next step. They might get suspicious if we ask them too many weird questions at once."
Noya said. Everyone agreed.
* * * * *
The next day, like the previous one, both teams met up before practice to start the next step.
"Alright. Today, we're going to see what they have in common."
Noya said.
"How about we send one person from each team to see what they like?"
Asahi suggested. No one had any better way to do it, so that's what they did.
Step Two
Team Mom
Yamaguchi's POV
So, my team chose me to interrogate mom.
I mean, I already had a pretty good idea on how to do it.
"Suga?"
I asked, walking up to Suga. He was getting the volleyballs out of the storage room.
"Yeah?"
He asked me.
"So, I really wanted to get to know you better."
I started. Suga set the cage of balls to the side and looked at me.
"Alright."
He said. I smiled.
"So, I just wanted to know what you liked."
I said. Suga smiled and thought about things for a few seconds.
"Well, I like volleyball, of course. I like to read. I like going to the park and on walks. I like hanging out with my friends. I like going to the beach. I like trying new things."
Suga said. I tried to remember everything he said.
"Alright, awesome! Thanks!"
I said. I turned around to walk away.
"Wait a second."
Suga said. I turned back to him. He smiled.
"What about you? What do you like?"
Suga asked. I panicked. I wasn't expecting him to ask me what I liked! This wasn't part of the plan!
"I uh- well... I like... the t-thing is... uhmmm... Tsukki?"
Suga stared at me. I turned red.
"O-oh! Uh, I didn't m-mean to say that! Um, I'm just- I'm just gonna..."
I started. I ran off.
Step Two
Team Mom
"How did it go?"
Hinata asked. Yamaguchi was bright red.
"Uh, great. Ok let's see. He likes volleyball, reading, going on walks to the park, hanging out with friends, going to the beach, annnddd, trying new things."
Yamaguchi said. Ennoshita stared at Yamaguchi.
"Yeah, ok. But why are you so red?"
Ennoshita asked. Yamaguchi sighed.
"Because he asked me what I liked and I panicked and said Tsukki..."
Yamaguchi said. Asahi looked at him sympatheticly. He put his hand on Yamaguchi's shoulder.
"Its ok. We all knew that already."
Step Two
Team Dad
Kageyama's POV
Ok, so apparently Tanaka and Noya were a bad idea, and we didn't want Tsukishima doing something stupid again, so I'm the one asking Daichi about what he likes.
I have no clue how to do it though.
"So Daichi! Uh, what do you like to do for fun?"
I asked Daichi suddenly. He was about to gather us all up for practice.
"I don't know. Play volleyball."
Daichi said. I smiled.
"Cool! But like, what else?"
I asked. Daichi looked at me.
"We need to start practice. Why are you asking me this?"
Daichi asked. I laughed nervously.
"I was just curious!"
I said. Daichi sighed.
"Fine. I also like watching movies, walking places, and uhhh. I don't know. Trying things I haven't tried before. Happy?"
Daichi asked. I smiled.
"Yes! Thank you!"
I said. Daichi ruffled my hair.
"Yeah yeah. No problem."
Step Three...?
No POV
"So they have volleyball, walking, and trying new things."
Noya said after receiving one of Hinata's spikes.
"Yeah."
Ennoshita said, bumping the ball to himself. Tanaka walked up to them.
"Hey, we can do step three right now!"
Tanaka said. Noya tilted his head.
"No we can't. We have to get them to run into each other, like on the weekend or something. Maybe we could get them to meet at the same-"
Noya said. He stopped when he saw Tanaka walking off.
Tanaka walked up to Daichi and used all his strength to push him into Suga.
Daichi tried to stop himself, but he fell on top of Suga.
Everyone stared at Tanaka.
Thank god Ukai had been looking the other way.
"Tanaka what the hell?"
Noya asked.
"They ran into each other!"
Tanaka said.
"That wasn't what we meant at all."
Ennoshita said.
"We didn't mean physically."
Tsukishima said, catching onto what happened.
"Guys."
Hinata whispered. Everyone looked at Hinata, who was pointing at Daichi and Suga. They were in the same position, just staring at each other.
Suga's POV
I can't even with this team.
I try to live my life like any other mom- I mean, like any other guy would, and something bad always ends up happening.
I don't know who it was who pushed Daichi into me, but when I tried to confront them, the whole team was at the opposite end of the gym.
I hate my children.
Daichi was still on top of me, and I couldn't stop staring into his eyes.
Daichi's POV
I don't know what those idiots are up to, but I know its not good. They've been acting really weird, and I need to get to the bottom of this.
I realized I was staring at Suga and quickly got up.
"Sorry."
I said. I held out my hand. Suga hesitantly took it, and I helped him up.
I stared at my team.
I was going to find out what those baby crows were up to if it killed me.

Step Four & Five
No POV
"He's catching on."
Noya whispered to Tanaka while Daichi was talking to the team about their next practice match.
"Who, dad? Catching onto what?"
Tanaka whispered back. Noya looked around before speaking again.
"He's been watching us like a hawk. Haven't you noticed?"
Noya asked his friend. Tanaka shook his head.
"Nope. How did you even notice? All you ever look at is Asahi-"
"SHUT UP!"
Noya whisper yelled at Tanaka. They turned their attention back to Daichi.
After Daichi finished talking, Noya decided that they better put steps four and five into action before Daichi realizes exactly what's going on.
"Alright. Here's an idea. We do step four while planning step five."
Asahi suggested. Noya grinned.
"Good idea!"
Noya exclamied.
"Hey guys! Stop talking and work on your recieves!"
Daichi yelled. Everyone nodded and agreed.
~Time Skip- One Week~
One heck of a week later, Daichi and Suga had never been more confused. Everytime Suga and Daichi were romteley close to each other, the whole team would slowly walk away like they were infected or something.
They didn't really know why, but then...
They figured it out.
Suga's POV
"Can you help me with my math work after school?"
Kageyama asked me. I smiled.
"Yeah, of course! Have you grades been alright?"
I asked. Kageyama nodded.
"Yeah. I just wanted some extra help. Can we meet at the cafe across the street from here at 4:00?"
Kageyama asked. I smiled again.
"Yeah, 4:00 works just fine."
Daichi's POV
"Why the cafe of all places?"
I asked Noya. He had asked me to meet him at the cafe near the school to help him with a project.
"It's nice there."
Noya said. I stared, tryng to figure out what he was trying to do.
"Why would you ask me? Why not Ennoshita or Tanaka? I'm a year older than you."
I said. Noya pouted.
"Please?"
He asked me. I groaned. Whatever. Maybe I'd get some answers on the teams weird behavior.
"Fine. What time?"
I asked. Noya grinned.
"4:00."
Suga's POV
I looked down at my phone.
4:04.
Kageyama's never late... not even by a few minutes. He should've been here by now.
I looked up from my phone, and I saw Daichi walking into the cafe.
"Hey, Daichi!"
I called. Daichi saw me and smiled. He walked up to me.
"Hey Suga. What are you doing here?"
Daichi asked me.
"I'm waiting for Kageyama. He told me to meet him here because he needs help with math work."
I said. Daichi pulled out the chair in front of me and sat down.
"Huh... that's a little weird. Noya told me to meet him here because he needed help with a project."
Daichi said. I shrugged.
"Whatever. You wanna hang out untill they get here?"
I asked. Daichi didn't answer, but his smile was enough.
We sat down in the cafe for half an hour. We ordered drinks and talked, but Noya and Kageyama still hadn't shown up.
"I'll text Noya."
Daichi said.
Daichi's POV
I pulled out my phone and texted Noya.
Daichi: Where are you???
Noya: At home
Daichi: We were supposed to meet at the cafe, you idiot!
Noya: Oh, looks like I forgot
Noya: Whatever. How's your date going?
Daichi: Date? What date?
Daichi: I'm not on a date...
Noya: Yes you are
Daichi: ???
Noya: Uh, I'm at home so I'm not sure what's happening
Noya: But try looking in front of you
I rolled his eyes and looked up.
Oh crap.
I shot out of my seat.
"I got it!"
I exclamied. Suga looked at me.
"What?"
Suga asked me. I sat back down and put my head in my hands.
"This whole time, those lunitics have been trying to set us up."
I said. Suga tilted his head.
"Huh? But we're already dating."
Suga said. I nodded.
"I know, but we didn't tell them that. I only asked you out two weeks ago."
I

said. Suga thought about what I said for a second.
"Fair point. But I accidentally called you gorgeous during practice. I thought that made it obvoius."
Suga pointed out. I shook my head.
"I thought so too, but they must have thought we both had crushes on each other and were acting awkward."
I said. Suga sighed.
"Alright. We better tell them tomorrow then."
The Next Day
Step Freaking 0
No POV
"Guys... we're dating."
Suga said. Noya jumped up and down.
"YESSSS!"
Noya screamed. He threw a paper in the air.
"I REALLY AM THE BEST LIBERO!"
Noya added. Daichi picked up the paper and scanned over it. He sighed deeply.
"No, Noya-"
Daichi started. Tanaka cut him off.
"I KNEW YOUR PLAN WOULD WORK DUDE! UP TOP!"
Tanaka yelled. The two second years high fived. Suga looked at Daichi. Daichi shook his head.
"No."
Daichi mumbled. Suga looked back at the two estatic second years. Hinata and Yamaguchi had joined in, telling Noya how cool he was.
"Please?"
Suga whispered. Daichi rolled his eyes.
"Fine."
He mumbled.
"But only this once."
Daichi said. Suga smiled.
"Alright, yeah. You guys got us together. I have to say, Noya, this was a good plan."
Suga said. Noya was beaming.
Daichi sighed and smiled at his boyfriend.
"I can't believe you just let them believe they hooked us up."
Daichi said quietly. Suga smiled again.
"It's alright. They'll get over it."
Let's just say...
They didn't.
