THIS IS MADNESS

I come from Africa, the poorest of all the continents
And my country is Nigeria, One of the most corrupt
I am a member of the Izon tribe, of the Niger Delta
One of the most oppressed, frankly lazy and stupid too

And yes the cost of living increases everyday, everyday
And I strain my eyes just to see the rising sun
For election drums echo beyond, the end has begun
Alas, if I give in to the dark side, will I be set free?

If I burn the world down, won't I find where Eden is?
For man is the problem of man, earth is the victim
I believe every human is equal, then why must I cry?
When I am shouting in thoughts, others are silent in noise

On judgement day, dear God, I hope you won't blame me
For I was too poor to be educated, so I have nothing to say
And to make matters worse, people still expect me to smile
To repeat lies long enough that they will transform into truths

I can not be happy, when the joy of my unborn child is uncertain
I can not dream, when my reality is a very vivid dark nightmare
And to make matters worse, I still got to fight to make heaven
This is madness!! This is madness!!! This is madness!!! I tell you.
