There was nothing, and then there was everything. Whirling around me in a violent haze, people I had never seen before, memories I had never made. I was standing in front of my father, a drink in his hand, purple veins popping out of his pinched face. Then it wasn't my father, it was a blur of golden light, a woman's face, a tinge of red, the smell of death. The Doctor was beside me, holding my hand. As soon as he appeared, he was gone. The planet took his place, it was a woman with bright red hair, and then it was a strikingly familiar man in a purple coat, and then it was nothing. It was an idea. It swirled around me in reds and purples, changing shape as quickly as the wind picks up and slows down. It grinned, and laughed, and tore through my mind, invading every inch of my body until I was hollow and all I knew was hatred and fear.
It leered and gloated, and showed me who I was, who I was destined to become.
And then the burning, coursing through my veins. Every cell in my body was being ripped apart and turned into something new.
All I saw was gold.
Gold-- and then-- nothing
