GOLDEN DAYS

Take me back
To the days where we could lay on a mountain-side together
Day-dreaming about being there forever, in my arms, breath against my neck
Feeling contented, whilst the wind rushed along its path
Our clothes dancing along to its tune, joining in with leaves
Staring into the horizon, where the sun's showing the promise of night
Listening  to our favourite song from my adored instrument
And eavesdropping birds join in, filling this mountain-side with beauty, with joy, with peace
And under the moonlight that just came upon us, I admired your features
The moon, in all its majesty and glory
I stared at its reflection in your eyes, and you were looking right at me, but beyond
Then the wind blew stronger, and we laughed, and we danced
Along with the rhythm of our hearts
Just like we did the days before, and they scared our hearts
A scar worth revealing; a scar worth getting
And on that mountain-side, we stayed until peaks of golden rays started to appear
And we knew this was it; this was when the river had to split into different paths, or change the order of nature
We didn't cry; we didn't regret; left without a word, for words could do no justice
That day had shone with brilliance, like the ones before
So take me back to the 'golden days', to when we left without looking back
When we left gazing at new sun's
Let me meet you again, and freeze time forever
