Anoa'i House
"Anjali!" I call out.
"Yes mommy?" She yells back.
"Come on let's do this video." Anjali comes into the family room while I set up the camera. I put two chairs in front of the camera. "Ready?" She nods. I turn the camera on and the two of us sit in the chairs. "Happy New Year everyone!"
"Happy New Year!" Anjali repeats.
"Welcome to another Anoa'i Family Vlog. Today, to kick off the new year I have decided to do something that I've seen other YouTubers do that I found absolutely adorable. And that is Interview a Four Year Old. So I have my four year old here to interview." I turn to my daughter. "Are you ready for your interview Ms. Anoa'i?" She nods. I pull out my index cards of questions.
How old are you?
Anjali: I am 4 years old *holds up four fingers*
When is your birthday?
Anjali: Um... November 28
Mallaika: Twenty...
Anjali: 16!
How old is mommy?
Anjali: Uh 25.
Malaika: How nice of you.
How old is daddy?
Anjali: 34.
Malaika: Huh. That's right.
What makes you happy?
Anjali: Playing with my brothers and sisters. And—and driving my car.
What's something that mommy always says to you?
Anjali: Um I love you.
What's something that daddy always says to you?
Anjali: Watch me on tv.
What do you want to be when you grow up?
Anjali: Taller.
What is your favorite food?
Anjali: Chicken fingers.
What is your favorite snack?
Anjali: Grapes and peanut butter crackers and apple and peanut butter and popcorn and eggs.
Malaika: Eggs?
Anjali: Yeah, the eggs you make. D—debbled eggs.
Malaika: Oh deviled eggs.
Anjali: Yeah!
What is your favorite tv show?
Anjali: Mickey Mouse Clubhouse.
Who is your best friend in your class?
Anjali: Betty.
Do you like to wear pants or dresses?
Anjali: Dress.
How do you feel when I hug you?
Anjali: Happy.
What does it mean when two people get married?
Anjali: When mommy puts on a pretty dress and mommy and daddy kiss.
Malaika: Why do people get married?
Anjali: Because they love each other.
Who is your favorite boy wrestler?
Anjali: Dee!
