SIERRA
"Everything would be alright because good karma is a thing."

"Sierra?" I glanced up at my mother as she stood by the door. She forced a smile as she walked over to sit on my bed.
"Aunt Paula and I are heading out to the grocery to get some things. I asked your friends to come over and keep your company. I hope that's okay?" She reached out to brush my hair with her hands and I allowed her.
I was so tired. What was I actually fighting anyway? I just felt drained. I couldn't believe what my father had done for me. He killed his own brother? I sighed, feeling a cold substance race down my cheek. I pulled the covers off my legs, willing myself to stand. I was done with sulking over his absence. My father did what needed to be done. He ceased my nightmares. He turned the lights on in my darkness. He saved me. I stretched my hands, yawning.
"Are you feeling better?" My mother questioned as she eyed me cautiously. I smiled- like really smiled and she seemed relieved.
"Yes Mom, I'm okay!" I reached my hand out for her and instead she grabbed me into a tight hug.
"Oh dear I love you so much! God you are so amazing. I don't know what I did to deserve a kid like you!" She cried and I chuckled, wiping her tears.
"Mom stop before you make me cry!" She closed her eyes, waving her hands around.
"No really Sie! I mean- all that you've done. Seriously? I mean you took care of me while I was sick, your father and this house. And you're going to a fucking advanced private academy school for freaking braniacs. Like how are you even able to do all of this? You make me so proud to be your Mom!" I laughed, really laughed and so did she. She sighed, hugging me again.
"From now on we talk- we talk about everything. I'm always gonna be here, you got me?" I nod, hugging her tighter.
"Sierra! You have visitors!" Aunt Paula screamed and I squealed just as I heard them barking at each other. My mother furrowed her brows as she glared at me.
"How many friends do you have?" I bite down on my lip as I grinned.
"Come meet them!" I rambled as I skipped down the steps. Xavier, Toby, Ander and Percy all stood in the living room chatting up Aunt Paula who seemed overwhelmed by the attention she was getting.
