Ballast Tank: A compartment in the bottom of an airship that can be filled with water to provide stability and weight when docked

Cabin Boy: A low-ranking, usually young male employee on a ship

Mooring Mast: A tall pole that a docked airship gets tied to to keep it in place

To Moor (a ship): To secure a ship to land or an anchor by way of a rope

Port: A designated, usually coastal hub for ships (or airships) to come and dock, pick up or offload cargo, etc. Also a word for the left side of a ship (not used in this book)

Prow: The very front of the ship; the front of the bow

Quarterdeck: A raised deck at the back of a sailing ship
