"The scariest thing about distance is that you don't know whether they'll miss you or forget you."

I kept on reading this specific line from my favourite book The Notebook by Nicholas Sparks.

It's exactly what I'm thinking and feeling at this very moment.

It's been two months since I met Jema and I can't seem to get over her. My memories of her kept on playing inside my head as if everything happened just yesterday.

If only I can see her again.

"Deanna Wong!" I heard Ponggay called me, so I snapped into reality. Annoyed, I looked at her with a raised eyebrow.

"My god naman Deanns! The Notebook pa din?! Alam mo walang mangyayari sayo kung puro ka lang basa at imagine. Nafollow mo na ba si Jema sa IG?!" Ponggay stated.

I just nodded my head, closed the book and placed it on my bedside table. I took my phone and opened my IG.

Here we go again stalking Jema's feed.

Ponggay sat beside me, "Deanns... I'm your best friend and so I know you very well. May tama ka na dyan kay Jema so bakit hanggang ngayon hindi mo pa din chinachat. Ano yan? Hanggang follow at puso na lang sa mga post? Come on! You can do better!"

I released a deep breath and faced her, "I really want to see her..."

"Then go see your girl! No one is stopping you!" She blurted out.

I moved my head sideways disagreeing to what she said, "It's not easy Pongs. U.S yun. And how can I find her there? 50 states iisa isahin ko?!"

"Deanns, if gusto mo talaga, maraming paraan. Sorry ha, but I'm gonna be really blunt, I know it's just one-time sex thing pero kung it really made an impact and nagkaroon talaga kayo ng connection then man up and go after your girl." She said, slapping me with the truth.

Another deep breath from me. Yeah, what's stopping me ba for going after her. I have the means to follow her pero bakit hindi ko magawa?

"Umalis siya Pongs, ni hindi man lang siya nagpaalam... I don't think she feels anything more..." I said with a bit of bitterness in my voice.

"Seriously, yan ang pinaniniwalaan mo?" Ponggay challenged.

"Well, hindi ba? She had a choice to wake me up, but she never did." I insist.

"Look Wong, bahala ka! Magbulag bulagan ka! Can't you see?! Why would someone bother to leave a note kung it was just nothing? And the nerves for a girl to ask you to follow her will never mean nothing. I saw how you guys were so happy that night. If I felt it, so what more pa for the both of you?!" Ponggay explained.

I was silenced.

"You were with her the whole time, I'm sure something developed kaya may nangyari sa inyo and you can't just say it was nothing! I told you a hundred times, she had a plane to catch, she can't just stay, and stop just to tell you things just because something happened. Remember, she was just supposed to attend my party. It wasn't even in her plan. And damn it, why am I even explaining?! Bahala kayong dalawa, pataasan kayo ng pride." Ponggay said with an irritated voice.

I released another deep breath.

"You know what?! Ang duwag mo. Simple lang naman eh, aminin mo sa sarili mo na gusto mo siya and damn it, find her!" She said firmly.

I'm trying to think. What should I do?!

"Do you know where she is?" I asked Ponggay.
