In the next hour Tyler explained everything to Mr. Monk, while he listened attentively, nodding every few minutes or so.

Meanwhile, I was getting getting anxious. It's not even been a full day and yet I feel like I have known these people forever.

This place feels like home, a word I have never used before.

It's scary, how quickly I have become familiar with these people.

My Rule no 2 was to never consider a place home, because our stays were always too short to be considered it home.

And here I am breaking rules, when I created them in the first place to protect myself from unnecessary feeling called heartbreak.

But now, I couldn't care less about getting hurt, because in Tyler I see an older brother and in Alex I see a sister and a best friend I never had.

They are my family now and I cannot leave them.

But do they feel the same for me?

Question like these makes me feel nauseous.

And I start doubting everything.

Sometimes, I really hate my biological parents for bringing me into a world they weren't going to be a part of.

Leaving me stranded on the porch of an orphanage when I wasn't even old enough to know my name.

Though occasionally I do wonder where are they or if they regret leaving me behind.

But I guess they do not, because if they did, they would have came back long ago.

After all, they had 13 years time to come back.

"Rose." I heard my name being called.

"Uh yeah?" I said distracted by my thoughts.

"Could you tell me something about you?" It was Mr. Monk's kind and soothing voice.

"Yes Mr. Monk. What do you want to know?"

"Anything dear." Mr. Monk smiled.

"Well, I am an orphan, I live in St. Mary orphanage, I am 13 years old. I like to read." I counted off the things on my fingers, 4 points, there is not much to tell about me anyways.

Tyler looked shocked while Alex looked at me with eyes full of pity.

I hate that look.

Ever since I have learned what this look meant I have never liked it. It makes me feel like they have something I do not. Even though it's partially true, it's not like I have any less of a blessing than they do. I am happy and contented and that's everything I need.

Maybe.

"You are such a wonderful young lady." Mr. Monk said adoringly, his hand atop my head, in a fatherly way.

"What do we do now M?" It was Tyler now. Jeez Tyler Thanks for the reminder, it's not like I am planning to stay here or something.

"First of all stop calling me by that horrendous nickname, makes me feel like a girl." Mr. Monk pouted for added effect and I couldn't hold it, a roar of laughter escaped past my lips.

"Am I the only sane person who knows what is actually important at the moment?" Tyler exclaimed throwing his hand up in the air, as if to say I am done with these people.

To which we all stuck out our tongue at him, bursting in laughter all together.

"Okay okay, jokes aside." Mr. Monk composed himself. "Tyler, I presume you made her drink the water of the Lake Legare?"

"Yes M, I did." Tyler smirked, most probably at his use of the nick name that Mr. Monk clearly mentioned not to use.

While the latter remained perturbed.

Must be used to his antics.

Tyler is a moody guy, sometimes he is joking and being sarcastic and the next he is freezing people with his Himalayan eyes. And honestly cold and rude Tyler scares me, though I could handle his snarky bum.

"Hmm, that's why you guys were able to bring her to my place." Mr. Monk mumbled to himself deep in thought, but since this place is quiet and peaceful, we all heard him. "How did you make the portal to that Generics world?" Mr. Monk inquired though his eyes turned into slits.

Must be a bad thing to make portals to another world.

"I just used my basic knowledge of the portal that I gathered while being with you, but the portals I make are not strong enough to hold energy of two people together."

"That's understandable, knowing how to make portals and actually making them are two different things. And not many could perform it either. Many of our kinds still could not get the hold of it and not to forget it's dangerous because if the calculations are wrong or the words are misspelled one could easily get their ribs broken or have different part of their body land in different dimensions." At the end of the sentence Mr. Monk's voice held pride.

It's clear from the way Mr. Monk looks at Tyler that he loves him as his own son.

"If it's not strong enough to hold two people, we can still use it to send Rose as she is the only one we need to send." Alex added.

"We could have done that only if Rose was not a Morfani." Tyler snapped at Alex.

Sometimes I forget that they are arch nemesis.

And It's only been a day.

Sad life.

"Well a Morfani wouldn't have landed here if you hadn't been throwing a tantrum in another dimension." Alex countered back.

"Do not talk like you know everything about me." Tyler pinned her with a murderous glare.

"Then how about you learn how to talk to people with some respect instead of treating them like bonsai under your leather shoes."

"I do not see any people around here who deserve respect. Just a bonsai under my leather shoes and I don't think they need respect."

"Must be the huge ego covering your eyesight." Alex fired back.

"The only thing degrading my eyesight is the scum talking back to me." And their banter went back and forth while Mr. Monk handed me a cup of tea and motioned me to follow him to the right corner of the living room, where a wooden book shelf was situated with numerous magical book and  a few equipment.

He began shuffling through the piles and piles of old brown books. Ah the smell hmmmm.

After a couple of minute of searching his eye brow rose and his eyes lit up at the sight of the book he had been looking for.

The book he was holding looked quite old, it was leather- bound, with an old frayed string of the same material as the cover, wrapped around it's width twice.

Upon untying the string, the book revealed thousand old pages, their edges worn out and tattered with the battle it has fought with time.

By the looks of it, I can confidently say it's older than Mr. Monk even.

He then began sifting through pages stopping when he was half way through the unbinded book.

"Aha here got it, hmmm, interesting, I think this could work, maybe if we do it this way, no this will cause complications, maybe if we add some spells, no no that will be a total disaster, oh yes maybe this could work." Mr. Monk crazily mumbled to himself, he looked like a cartoon character at that moment.

"TYLER!! ALEX!! STOP FIGHTING LIKE LEPRACHUNS AND COME HERE, I THINK I HAVE FOUND A SOLUTION." Mr. Monk screamed back to them and their fighting stopped at once and as for me all color left my face.
