"And... start!" Todoroki and Izuku both quickly drew their guns but before Todoroki aimed, Izuku had already taken one out. It was a constant stream of bullets from his gun, and Todoroki's frozen bullets could barely keep up. The target practice ended in less than ten seconds. Izuku, having taken out almost all the targets and Todoroki barely getting seven. Izuku got 40.
"W-well... that went well. It seems you can work your weapon well..." Todoroki stuttered for a second, his cold mask broken for a second just because of the surprise.
"It would appear so. Did you by chance have practice with your gun?" Aizawa asked, turning to Midoriya. He hesitantly nodded as he allowed his weapon to disappear and almost shrunk in on himself. "Well it's good to see. You also have a really good focus and little backlash from shooting. That would make an amazing hero kid."
"No kidding. That was truely an impressive feat," Tokayami cut in.
"I agree with that statement," Aoyama said confidently. Midoriya looked up in surprise.
"Have... you never been told you could be a hero?" Aizawa asked. He shook his head as he looked down. "What assholes.... They could've nurtured you to your potential and you could've been an amazing hero..." Aizawa grumbled. Midoriya looked at him in surprise. Midoriya thought for a moment before lifting up his hands and began to fingerspell.
'S P E L L?' he sighed. Aizawa took a moment to decipher the message.
"Are you asking if I know how to read fingerspelling?" Izuku nodded gratefully. "Yeah, I know the basics. It's a requirement for the field."
"It would benefit you to know, I also know fingerspelling," Tokayami said. "I would be happy to translate if need be." Izuku nodded, happily. Maybe, just maybe, this place wouldn't be so bad.
