(Reader's POV)

I wander around the park in my neighborhood as the cherry blossom petals fall gently. A few feet ahead, I spot my friend Mikaela sitting on a bench with a paper crown resting on his ash blonde locks.

I chuckle, walking over to him. "Nice crown you've got there." He flinched at my voice, but relaxes when our eyes meet.

"Thanks (N/n)~chan. Don't I look handsome with it?" He cocks a brow and a stifle a laugh.

"Very. But seriously, why the crown?" I ask as I sit beside him on the bench.

"The children at the orphanage made it for me. I spent the day with them, so I sort of forgot I had it on until you mentioned it." He chuckles.

"I feel special, I didn't know I was acquainted to royalty, King Hyakuya Mikaela." I bow my head slightly, earning a laugh from him.

How I love his laugh, it's music to my ears. "I am no royalty—"

"Of course you are!" I interrupt him. "What thy children decree, thy King shall enforce!" I say in a fake English accent.

I stand up, kneeling in front of him, my left hand out and my right hand on my chest as I bow as though a knight would.

"My King, allow me to offer my service to you as your knight in shining armor." He laughs and stands in front of me, looking down as I smile up at him with a giggle.

"That sounds wonderful, Knight (L/n). Although, you should know..." He kneels before me, lifting my chin to face him. "I would much rather have a queen to rule thy kingdom with."

My heart flutters as I realize how close our faces are. Heat rises to my cheeks as he helps me up, wrapping his arms around my waist.

"Please, (Y/n)~chan. Be my queen..." His voice softens and I realize he isn't joking. My heart skips a beat.

I've known Mika since before he wasn't an orphan. We met at this very park one day when my kite got stuck in a tree. Mika climbed it and got it down for me, but he ended up falling off the tree and on top of me. We've been friends ever since.

I don't realize how long he's been waiting for my answer until he clears his throat, nervously biting his lip. "S-Say something please..."

Before I realize what I'm doing, I gently bite his bottom lip. His eyes widen at my bold move but I don't stop. I kiss him gently, earning a soft moan. The kiss is slow and gentle. Time seems to stop as he pulls me closer to him, leaving no space between us.

Mikaela moans against my lips before slowly pulling away. He chuckles. "Is that a yes..?"

I laugh and nod shyly. Our lips connect once more and everything in the world feels right. My best friend, my boyfriend, my king.
