Early sweet chirps and benign breezes brushing through leaves
is my alarm clock to prepare for the morning.
My frame is polished plenty and glimmers with soft gold
in the sunrise's rays, a mix of this new and my old.
I lay out my white silk dress, letting it flutter over my legs,
and carefully grasp the mirror with my textured, graceful fingers.
Gazing over each stroke of hair, brushed back to where it ought to be,
I ascertain that each line upon my face is drawn ever so perfectly.
The simple lips, the content eyes, the nose rounded and centered,
placed upon the smooth neck and shaded collarbones nicely rendered.
Tis truly a ready reflection, a prepared painting indeed.
All that's left is a slight turn of the head, and to lay my hands o're my lap
ever so gracefully.
