THROMBEY WAS A POWERFUL surname to bear; synonymous with proud asshole and super fucking competitive and Prudence Thrombey — the most likable, in her non-biased opinion — was no exception. She was Head Girl of Ravenclaw house, a natural problem solver, lover of near impossible puzzles and trick questions. Prue prided herself on her ability to figure out anything — especially those muggle murder mystery books she was currently obsessed with (irony not intended, but whatever). But in the middle of her seventh year (decidedly the hardest year what with having to focus on N.E.W.Ts and the concerning number of death eaters) a new synonym gets added to the list: murderer. This one isn't oddly specific to one person — unlike how know-it-all was obviously directed at Prue — seeing as it could have been any of the ten Thrombey's staying in Donald's manor at the time of death, where they all argued with him before he was found with a knife lodged in his back (muggle style; odd for a family of purebloods). And Prue, the only one with a working brain cell in her entire family and an affinity for murder mysteries, decides to figure it out herself because when the accusation finger points at her ( as if Prue killed anyone and got caught ) that just won't do. It's just her luck when James Potter — and his merry band of idiots —, with his usual amount of Gryffindor bravado and budding hero complex, decides to prove that Prue's actually innocent. His motive? A date; but if he gets her out of this mess in one piece she just might marry him . . . just kidding, right?
