Within Me (Hunter X Hunter x Reader)

Prologue

''Become a hunter and you'll find me.'' That was the words written on the blanket that was left when you were just a baby. You were left in front of the doorstep of an orphanage and you never knew who your real parents are. A lot of different ''family'' adopted you, but after a few weeks they'd return you to the orphanage.

You never knew why, maybe because you've been a bad girl? Even the staff at the orphanage seemed so eager to get rid of you. They'd call you ''crazy girl'' or ''weirdo'' whenever they had the chance, their words hurt you but you had no choice but to take it all in.

There were this one time where you woke up randomly at the middle of the day holding a knife covered in blood. It scared you so much that you avoided sharp things like knife, scissors, and etc.

It occurred a lot of times, sometimes you would wake up with a headache at some weird place you didn't remember going into. There was also a time where you woke up with a wound on your face, you never knew how you got. It was enough signs for you to figure out that something is definitely wrong with you.

At that time you guessed that maybe your body is moving on its own whenever you fell asleep? It was a mystery for you and you wanted to fix yourself.

You thought that maybe if you get rid of this weird occurrences the people might change their personality towards you.

When the time has come for the 287th Hunter Exam, you decided that you had to become a hunter. You heard alot of rumors saying that if you're a hunter you could get all the information that you wanted, and people will respect you.

Every person at the orphanage wished you'd leave immediately, so when you were walking out the orphanage they cheered.

It made you sad, of course, it had a lot of bad memories but its still the place you call home.

Consoling yourself you looked at the sky and promised you'd come back once you become a hunter.

It was a challenge for you to leave the town.

You never left the small town that's why you don't know where to go. The only good thing was the people you asked directions to, doesn't avoid you.

There were a lot of challenges,but the biggest challenge was whenever you'd wake up at a completely different place.

You were invited to a restaurant like place once, it has a lot of guys and they were all drinking the same stuff, but then all you remembered was accepting the offer of a middle aged man and then waking up below the tree with a broken bottle on your hands.

You never knew whether this weird occurrences helped you or not but you definitely want to know what's happening whenever you doze off.

So when you saw the same middle aged man you approached him but he quickly runs away when he noticed you walking towards him.

It took you 3 days to reach the exam site, you were amazed at how the exam site was inside a small shabby restaurant.

There were alot of applicants inside, some of them intimidates you and some of them looks like the same age as you are.

You decided to wait for the examiner when a fat man calling himself ''Tonpa'' approaches you and offered an orange juice. You gladly took the juice and you started to doze off once again.

''Get the fuck out of my face fatass, don't show your face to me ever again or i'll let you drink a real poisoned juice.''

"Tonpa" was rather shocked at your sudden change, you were so cheerful just a second ago that's why he thought he could totally fool you. An apologetic smile appeared on his face. "O-Oh it must've gone bad, I'm sorry I didn't notice" He said letting out an apologetic laugh.

You threw the orange juice right onto his face that it caught some of the applicants attention.

"I'm not stupid enough to believe that, go away." You shot him a cold glare.

Tonpa once again apologised and finally excused himself.

You were startled when three new applicants arrived. One of them was a bit loud saying how amazing the hunter exam was. He looked like he has the same age as you, so you were quite interested in getting to know him.

An applicant with the number #67 suddenly approached you saying how funny you were when you acted like that to Tonpa.

You tilted your head to the side, confused at what he was talking about. "I'm not sure what you're talking about, Mr. Tonpa was so nice!"

#67 was taken aback at your response but he just shrugged it off and went back to his group.

After a few minutes of waiting, the "examiner" finally appeared, he said that the first phase of the exam will be starting and everyone should follow him.

You started following him just like all the applicants.

This is the first step of you becoming a hunter. You were so excited but also scared at what's coming.

I'm so excited to write this one because I have so many ideas of how the story will go! I did say that I'm gonna be adding more characters but this idea of y/n having a different personality just didn't fit with the story i had in mind, so this one will be focusing on the hxh exam again and it will be a harem between two characters yey!

I'm so excited to upload the first chapter haha! I'll try to make a schedule for when I'm going to upload a new chapter so that everything will be organised~ but again, I'll try to make as many chapters in advance so if I suddenly become busy with life again I could use those chapters to update uwu
