Asleep

Everyone sleeps, so why can't I?
I turn the lights out and cry
Nobody hears me crying for the life that was never mine
They sleep so peacefully, tucked away in their rooms
Why can't I sleep anymore?
I lay awake from dusk to dawn
Trying to find what force drags me on
I've gone blind to the pain of the blade on my skin
The blood floods into my mouth as I bite my tongue
Nobody heard the pain in my voice when I laugh at the jokes that I said when I was young
I can't sleep anymore
