Mess Around - Cage the Elephant

I walked into work with a little more gratitude and a big smile on my face. Today I wore something a little more casual. A gray sweater and black skinny jeans, I pulled my blonde hair back into a low ponytail. With this case going on I really needed to uplift myself. And the FIB meeting...

"Hey, Elizabeth," Dart yelled to me from his office as I sat down in my chair. "Hey, any new updates with the case?" I called back. He got up and walked over to me with documents in hand. "Yes, we just got some more news on Dave Norton's death. He worked with Michael De Santa. Michael was under FIB protection but we haven't found out why," Dart went on. Jason came out from the lab room and bumped into Dart.

"Oh, hey, Jace," Dart greeted. "Hey," I also greeted. "Guys, I know when we were at the crime scene that I couldn't scope out what all happened perfectly, but now I think I got it," Jason yipped. My eyebrows rose in anticipation. "We should see that!" I got up and pulled on Dart's arm and we all went into Jason's lab.

"Okay, so the blown up truck that was there, turns out it was actually a SWAT truck and since Dave works with the FIB, that means he must've driven that truck all the way to the house. But what makes me question things is why Dave would bring a SWAT truck to this house. He was all dressed up in armor like he was ready to attack someone. And Michael had absolutely no protection on him, neither did Charli. Honestly, Dave could've killed Charli and Michael and then killed himself."

"But the mysterious fingerprints we discovered that aren't in the system... I don't think Dave killed them," I disagreed. "Someone hacked into the police department system and totally erased a suspect's evidence of bailing out Betty Philips. Joe Marsh bailed Betty out. I looked up things on Joe Marsh and guess what? They don't exist. And I tried searching for the photo ID Joe used to bail Betty and that's been totally erased, too."

"I have a new suspect and I discovered it last night," I explained. "Trevor Philips. It's Betty Philips' son. Trevor sometimes went to his mom's cottage. Why don't you look him up on the system, Jason? Will you?"

Jason nodded and headed over to his computer. He typed in Trevor Philips. The page was... blank?

"There's... no one named Trevor Philips in here. A-And I know about Trevor! He's been arrested in the past for robbery but he was let out earlier because of good behavior. That arrest should be showing up and along with all of his information. This is messed up," Jason sighed.

"Hmm, what if Joe Marsh and Trevor are the same people? I mean, it can't be a coincidence that both of their information and traces have been totally erased while everyone else's is still there," Dart mentioned. He's right.

"Trevor's home has been totally abandoned, which means he probably went somewhere. A vacation. And there is no way we can find him," I condemned. Everyone stared at me with a hopeless look.

"Well, Betty did mention Trevor left behind a friend there. She didn't say what his name was but I'm sure we can go to Trevor's place and see if his friend is there. I'll get Trevor's address from Betty," I started, walking out of the room with my phone in my hand and already dialing Betty.

She picked up instantly. "Betty, I have a question for you. Can you tell me Trevor's address to his trailer?"

I got the address from her, I got in my car and headed there. It was located in Sandy Shores so it took me a little bit to get there. I didn't have a warrant so I could not search the home. I was interested in who Trevor's friend was.

I parked my vehicle on the side of the road in front of the trailer, I placed my hand over my pistol just in case. The yard didn't look clean or kept up. The trailer was rotting and it smelled horrible.
