The Shadows Or The Darkness

Prologue

"How did all this happen, all of this pain, all of this suffering, what caused it all," A man mutters to himself as he clutches his head in pain,
"Please make this pain stop," The man quietly cries as the pain gets even worse,
"Nothing in this world makes anything better, all I see is darkness, hate, anger, and all of the pain making it worse," The man cries as he covers his ears as voices start to appear,
"Yes give into your darkness, give into your hate, kill this woman who has caused you so much pain," The voices howl as the man starts to cry,
"I can't kill her, I can't," The man studders as tears flow down his cheeks,
"Yes you can, she's the one who caused all of the pain, she's the one who broke your heart, she the one who is trying to stop you from fulfilling your birthright," The voice yells causing the man to close his eyes and let out a scream,
"GAGAGAGAGAGAGAGAGAGAGAGAGAGAGAGAGAGAGAGAGAGAGAGAG" The man screams attempting to escape the hail of voices,
"John," A voice calls out,
The man named John looks up and sees a white figure kneeling in front of him,
"Please come back to me don't listen to these voices just listen to me," The voice says in a soothing voice,
John looks up at the white figure with confliction,
"Why...Why would I listen to you," John mutters sadly, as tears start to stream down his face, 
"You're the reason why all of this started in the first place," John mutters as he looks back at the ground and stares at the dirt,
"John...Please listen to me I know what I did was wrong and that I hurt you in a way that can never truly forgive me, but I..."
"NO, John don't listen to that lying bitch," Another voice calls out causing John to look back and see a shadowy figure standing behind him, 
"No, John listen to me don't listen to her, she is going to try to pull you back into the darkness, please come back with me," The white figure cries reaching out a hand,
"No, John don't listen to her, she's the one who caused all of this, remember she's the one who caused you all of this pain," The dark figure says reaching out a hand,
"John please come back to me,
"John come back with me," Both voices say trying to win John over,
"Stop...please stop," John mutters as tears start to flow down his cheeks as he covers his ears,
"Please stop, please stop, Please stop, Please stop, PLEASE STOP,"

14 Years Ago,
"Thank-You master for teaching me," A young boy says as he bows his head with respect towards a man covered in dark armor,
The man lets out a laugh before kneeling in front of the boy,
"Don't worry John, as long as you learn to harness to power within your scythe and continue your training you will become stronger than I could ever dream to be," The man says as he places his hand on John's shoulder,
John looks up at his master with a proud look in his eyes,
"Master Zed, once I finish my training at Beacon, I will come back and defeat you," John says with a challenging smirk,
The man called Zed lets out a laugh before standing up,
"We will see young John Kayn we will see," Zed says before turning around and walking away, 
John turns around and walks over towards a tree with a scythe leaning against it,
John grabs the scythe and lifts it over his shoulder,
"So did you get that approval you desired so very much,"  A voice mocking says as John lets out a sigh,
"If you must know Rhasst, yes I did," John replies as he walks on to a dirt road,
"Oh, I bet it felt good,"  Rhasst says before letting out a chilling laugh, 
John shakes his head and continues down the road, 

Timeskip 2 hours

"So what's the plan once we get to Beacon,"  Rhasst asks as he stops laughing,
"Well if you must know, the plan is to make sure that every moment that we have we train and gain every amount of knowledge that we can," John says as he approaches the outskirts of a large town,
"Ah, here we are, The city of Vale," " John says as he pauses to inspect the city, 
"Look at all of those sheep just waiting to be slaughtered," Rhasst snarls with disgust as he watches the citizens of the town of Vale,
"Rhasst be nice," John says with a hint of sarcasm in his voice,
"What you don't agree with me," Rhasst asks,
John laughs before walking into the town called Vale,
As John walks around Vale, he stares at all of the buildings and people walking in the town,
"What's wrong, have you never seen a town before," Rhasst asks causing John to shake his head,
"No, I never have been to a town this big before," John responses getting a few confused looks from people walking by,
"I'm surprised that your Master would have taken you into town every once in a while for a loving father-Son lunch," Rhasst laughs as John lets out an annoyed growl,
"Rhasst what have I told you about making fun of my teacher," John snarls getting a few more glances by people that walk past him,  
Rhasst doesn't answer he only keeps on laughing, 
John rolls his eyes before he walks to a landing platform,
John looks around before throwing his scythe into the air,
As the scythe lands on the ground, he jumps into the air and flips on the top of the handle,
"A yes much better," John says as he sits with one foot on top the scythe,
"Wouldn't you agree with me Rhasst," John asks as the people around him look at him with confusing glances,
"Hm yes I would agree with you, but I would much rather kill everyone here and then watch as all of their blood spills into the stone sidewalk and hang their guts on the walls as decorations,"  Rhasst says before laughing,
"Of course you would," John says as he shakes his head,
John closes his eyes and lets out a sigh,
A few minutes pass and John as started to meditate,
"Hey mister," A voice calls out causing John to open his eyes,
"Hmm," John says as he starts to look down,
"What is it..." John says before the words die in his mouth as he sees a beautiful girl wearing a white cloak, with silver eyes and black hair with red tips, staring up at him,
"Ah...AHAHAHA" John yells as he falls off his scythe, 
"Ah are you alright," The girl exclaims as she runs over a kneels next to John,
"Ouch," John grumbles as he opens his eyes to see the silver-eyed girl kneeling in front of him,
"GAGA," John yells as he jumps up startling the silver-eyed girl, 
"Rhasst what do I do, there's a girl in front of me," John mutters quietly as unknowingly stares at the girl,
"Well isn't this funny, I thought your master taught you everything," Rhasst says before he starts to growl,
"That girl has sliver eyes it's best if we kill her now,"  Rhasst snarls causing John to let out a gasp,
"What do you mean don't say things like that out loud," John says gaining a confused look from the girl,
"Hey are you okay," The girl asks as she stares at John,
"Hmm, oh sorry about that I was talking to a friend," " John says as he brushes off his vest,
"Umm...Who are you talking to," " the girl says as she looks at John with a confused look,
John looks at the girl with a questing smile,
"My Scythe of course," John says pointing at his scythe,
"Umm...Okay well if your okay then I guess I'll see you on the bullhead," The girl says as she takes a small step away from John,
"Oh sure, I guess I'll see you too," John says as the girl turns and walks quickly away from John,
"What a strange girl," John says as he goes over a picks up Rhasst,
As John picks up Rhasst, a large airship descends from the sky landing in front of a massive group of students, 
"Well looks like our ride is here," John says as he walks towards the airship,
John steps into the ship and looks around,
"Jeez, there are a lot of people here, hay Rhasst," John says getting looks from other students,
"Yes there are a lot of sheep to be slaughtered," Rhasst says with a laugh,
"Why do you call everyone sheep," John asks as he places Rhasst against one of the walls of the airship and sits down next to him,
"When you have lived as long as I have, you begin to understand the people who are sheep and those who are the wolves," Rhasst says John lets out a sigh,
"And which one am I," John asks as he leans back and places his head on the wall,
"It's hard to say,"  Rhasst says causing John to smile, 
"Welp, I'm going to take a nap, wake me up if anyone tries to approach me," John says before shouting his eyes,
"Whatever you say,"  Rhasst says,

TIMESKIP: One Hour

"Wake up someone is approaching you,"   Rhasst says causing John to jump up and see the same sliver eyed girl from before,
"Oh sorry, I didn't mean to startle you," The girl says as she rubs the back of her head shyly,
"Oh it's no problem," John says as he twists his back releasing all of the tension with a loud crack,
"Oh, that sounded like it felt good,"  Rhasst says as with a laugh,
"Yeah your right that felt amazing," John replies with a smile,
"Umm...Who are you talking to," The girl asks as she stares at John,
"Oh did you hear before, I was talking to Rhasst, " John says as the point towards Rhasst,
The girl stares at John with a worrying look,
"Umm..." The girl says as she looks at John like he is crazy
"Wait...Rhasst say something,"
"Fuck you sliver eyed girl,"  Rhasst says as John looks back at the sliver eyed girl,
"Did you hear what he just said," John asks causing the girl to shake her head,
"So you can't hear him," John asks as he slowly starts to realize what this means, 
"Oh my god...I'm so sorry about that," John says as his face turns bright red,
"I must be sounding like a lunatic,"
The girl lets out a giggle and reaches out her hand,
"Yeah you kinda did, my name's Summer Rose,"
"Hee, yeah my name is John Kayn," John says as he shakes Summer's hand,

I don't know if it was love at first sight or if this was the biggest mistake of my life, whatever this meeting was, it started a long path of bloodshed, tears, heartbreak, and pain.
