The Begining Of Summer

What do you think is a better fate, forgive what happened in the past and moving on with someone who loved you or forgetting your past and moving on with some who does love you, I ask myself this question rather often when I have to choose between these two, the past or the future,

Beacon: Year One
Month: October
Summer POV
"Oh my god this is going to be so fun," I cry as I hop up and down as I put on my school clothes,
"What's got you so hyper," My teammate Qrow mutters as I watch him place his hand on his forehead and start rubbing it,
"Yeah geez, Summer it's like five in the morning," I hear my other teammate Tai groan before sitting up and stretching,
"Are you kidding me it's the week of the Fall dance," I yell as I spin around and laugh,
"I can't wait for all of the colors, the fireworks and,"
"And John asking you to the dance," Raven says causing me to stop and stare at her before she picks up her sword,
"W..What are you talking about," I studders as I feel my face begins to heat up,
"Come on, Sum, we all know that you are head over heels for that guy, so just ask him to the dance," Qrow says while smirking,
I let out a yelp as put my head in my heads to try and hide the blush on my face,
"Is it that obvious," I ask while looking at Raven who shakes her head,
"Yeah it's almost as obvious as Tai trying to win over a girl," Raven says while rolling her eyes in annoyance,
Just then there is a knock on our door,
I sigh before raising my head and walk over towards the door,
"Who could it be at this time," Tai asks as he heads towards the bathroom,
"I think it's John I asked him to train with me," Raven says as she walks towards the door,
My eyes widen as Raven opens the doors and it is indeed John standing there with a smirk on his face,
"Good morning, Raven, you ready," I hear John say,
Raven only nods in response as she walks out of the room,
"Morning Qrow," John says before he looks at me and winks,
"Morning Sum," John says as I feel my face heat up,
"G..Good...morning," I studders causing John to laugh,
"My god I love his laugh," I say to myself,
"See you guys later," John says before waving goodbye,
"Y...Yeah see you later," I call out waving goodbye,
"You know my sister likes John as well," I hear Qrow say causing me to lower my head and let out a sigh,
"Yeah, I figured as much," I sigh before I lift my head turn to smile at my drunk teammate,
"Qrow I told you to stop drinking," I yell as I watch him take a drink out of a silver flask,
Qrow shrugs his shoulders before taking another drink,
I sigh before rubbing the bridge of my nose,

TIMESKIP: One Day Before The Dance
Third Person: No One's POV
"Come on Raven," John says as he blocks Raven's strike,
Raven growls before braking the block and jumping back evading a swing from John's scythe,
"You know Raven you can't keep evading me forever," John teasingly says as he lifts Rhasst over his shoulder,
Raven narrows her eyes before rushing at John,
"Rhasst, you ready," John asks as he holds Rhasst behind him,
"YES, of course, let's kill this sheep," Rhasst says as John chuckles,
"Alright let's go," John yells before he leaps at Raven spinning in the air,
Raven raises her sword to block John's attack,
John smirks before swinging Rhasst at the ground,
Raven's eyes widen as she tries to block the oncoming attack only for her to go flying back and crashing into the wall,
John smirks before he walks over towards Raven,
"Goddamint, who does he keep beating me," Raven mutters as she looks up and sees John holding out a hand,
Raven sighs before grabbing John's hand,
John smiles before helping Raven on to her feet,
"You know, Raven, out of all of the people that I have trained with you are one of the only ones that can give me a challenge," John says as Raven puts the sword into her Sheath,
Raven only nods before she starts to walk out of the training room,
"Jeez, did I go overboard Rhasst," John mumbles as he watches Raven leave,
"Hmm, it seems that girl doesn't like to lose," Rhasst replies before starting to laugh,
"That girl is nothing but a sheep I wonder what her insides feel like," Rhasst says with glee,
"Rhasst, no that's disgusting," John says as he starts walking after Raven,
TIMESKIP: The Night Of The Dance
"Man it sure is boring around here," John groans as he pours a cup of punch and watches the students of Beacon dance,
"Yeah, John," Summer says causing John to turn around,
"Hey Summer you look beautiful," John says to the sliver eyed girl causing her to blush,
"Well you look nice as well," Summer replies still with a blush on her face,
"Are you okay you look red," John asks as he places a hand on Summer's forehead earning a yelp from Summer as she jumps back,
"Y...Yeah, I..am...it's just a little hot in here," Summer says as she avoids John's eyes,
John chuckles before setting down his cup and grabbing Summer's hand,
"Well do you want to join me outside," John asks as he starts leading Summer towards one of the balconies,
"N...No I don't have to come with I don't want you to miss your dance with Raven," Summer says sadly causing John to stop and turn around,
"Who said I'm going to dance with Raven," John says while smirking,
Summer looks up with a confused look on her face,
"But I thought you came to the dance with her," Summer responses not believing what she is hearing,
John laughs before he starts leading her towards the balconies,
"Raven and I are just friends, plus I don't think she wants to dance with anyone right now," John says pointing at Raven who is sitting alone giving any guy a death glare that tries to approach her,
Summer stops and stares at John,
"Wait does that mean he came here alone," Summer says to herself as John meets her gaze and smiles,
"But if anything I should be asking if you had a date to the dance," John asks,
Summer shakes her head before sighing,
"No, there was a person I wanted to ask, but I don't think that he would want to come with me," Summer replies with sadness in her voice,
John sigh before places his hand on Summer's head and rubbing it,
"Well, I don't know who wouldn't want to dance with you, Sum," John says earning another yelp from Summer as her face lights up like a Christmas tree,
John laughs before turning and leaning on the balcony railings looking out at the city of Vale,
"Why can't I tell him," Summer says to herself as she stares at John,
"You know I never got to see this when I was a kid," John says causing Summer to slowly stand next to him,
"What do you mean," Summer asks as she turns her head to look at the young warrior,
John sighs before shaking his head,
"Nevermind, it's nothing," John says as he turns his head and sees Summer looking at him,
"Come on, you can tell me, I'm your friend," Summer says as she places a hand on John's hand,
John looks into Summer's sliver eyes before turning away and looking back at the city of Vale,
"Well let's just say my whole childhood was training to surpass and take my master's place," John says as he narrows his eyes as he smiles at the thought,
"You see my master is one of the strongest fighters in this world," John continues,
"And all my childhood I was training to take his place and let's just say that the training wasn't meant for a three-year-old," John says as he rubs his side,
Summer stares at John trying to find the right words to say,
"And I never really had any friends, I was always training, so that's why I never got to experience a sight like this," John says frowning a little,
Just then a slow song starts to play,
STAND BY ME
John smiles before grabbing Summer's hand and pulling her away from the railing,
"You want to dance," John asks causing Summer stares at John with disbelief,
"You want to dance with me," Summer asks as her face starts turning dark red,
"Yeah, why else would I ask," John says with a smirk before pulling Summer to him so that there bodies at nearly touching,
John place one hand on Summer's hip while Summer place one hand on John's shoulder,
John smiles before slowly leading Summer as they dance,
They move in perfect sync as they match each other's movements,
It was like they were made for each other one would say if they didn't know what happens after the dance ends,
"Hey, John, can I tell you something," Summer asks as she stares into John's eyes,
"Yeah Sum," John responses as he stares into Summer's sliver,
Summer bits her lip before taking a deep breath,
"John, I...I don't know how to say it," Summer says as she lets out a disappointed sigh,
John looks at her and smiles,
"Well how about you tell me what you want to say not with words but with action," John says while smirking as the blush on Summer's face darkness,
"Is he teasing me," Summer asks herself as she takes a deep breath,
"Okay John please don't make fun of me but I can't," Summer says before looking away from John's gaze,
John sighs before he lowers his head and gently kisses Summer
Summer's eyes widen before she slowly melts into the kiss and starts kissing back,
The two break the kiss and look into each other's eyes,
"Is that what you wanted to say," John says smirking at Summer who's has is the darkest shade of red,
John laughs as Summer tries to say something but stumbles over her words,
"Y...Yeah, that's what I was trying to say, " Summer says as the song slowly starts to end,
"So you feel the same way," Summer asks with a shine in her eyes,
John smiles before leaning down and lifting her chin,
"I do like you Summer but just a heads up I'm not the best when it comes to stuff like this," John whispers causing Summer to smile and lean her head on John's chest,
"Well, I think that we both are in the same boat," Summer says as she closes her eyes as the song slowly comes to an end,
John smiles,
"You know that this isn't going to work, she is just going to use you, once she finds out what you are, she will leave you and will use it to turn everyone against you, you know that right " Rhasst snarls causing John to shake his head and close his eyes enjoying this moment with Summer,
"See I told you," Qrow says as he takes money from Tai,
"Yeah, yeah," Tai says as he looks on in jealousy,
"What does that guy have that I don't" Tai whispers as he tightens his fist causing his knuckles to turn white as he turns and walks away from John and Summer,
Qrow simply similes before he turns around and takes out his flask and takes a drink,
"Raven you can come out, I know that your there," Qrow says as he sighs,
Raven walks out of the shadows with a murderous glare on her face,
"I told you, sis, you should have told him before," Qrow says before looking back at John and Summer who are still dancing with each other,
Raven glares at them before throwing her hair back over her head and stomping away,
Qrow sighs before taking one last look at the two,
"I'm happy for you two," Qrow whispers before walking away leaving the two alone,

"I do wish I listen to what Rhasst said, but I just couldn't at that moment I thought everything was going to work out but the first year of Summer was just a lie, a little taste of something that I want to have again but unless I throw away my future and give up her, It will never happen, maybe in another life,
