This is the night when Hal was arrested for being the Black Hood.
Alice sat on her couch wearing just her robe. She had just taken a shower she her hair was still a little damp. She had a bottle of wine sitting on her table, the glass next to it. She played with the ring on her finger, she never realized how big it was. She slid it off her finger and threw it across the room hitting the wall or maybe even the table. She kept her eyes on the ground, she felt numb. She moved on of her hands up to her hair and remembered she cut it after her shower. It rested just above her shoulders, but with it damp it was lower than it would if it was longer.
She knew Betty left with Archie three hours ago, and she didn't expect her to come by tonight or soon. Alice softly ran her fingers along her soft robe, she just wanted to forget about tonight, it kept replaying in her mind constantly. She just wanted something to distract her. She thought about Hal's parents, her high school years, Charles, and then FP came into her mind. She stopped thinking for a seconds when FP came into her mind. She hadn't thought about FP since the musical.
A knock was heard on her door, getting her out of her thinking. She got up from the couch and walked over to the door, she looked through the peep-hole and couldn't believe what she was seeing. She unlocked the door and opened it to the one person she thought she wouldn't be seeing.
"Alice..." Fred said looking at her. "How are you doing?"
"I'm okay. Do you want to come in?" He nodded his head, she moved out of the way letting him in more. He walked into the living room sitting on the chair. She shut the door and walked over to him sitting on the couch. "I thought you were going to be with Archie."
"He left with Veronica." He said simply. "Tell me honestly, Alice. How are you really feeling?"
She didn't think about it. She felt numb. She felt alone in the world. Of course she had Polly and Betty, and Fred, but she felt like they were the only people who cared about her. The only people who were actually there for her. Hal was never there for Alice. He never cared how she felt, how to please her or make her feel loved.
"I'm just a little scared from tonight." She lied looking at him. He looked and noticed the bruise on her neck, lightly appearing. "I'm more wondering how Betty's doing."
"The only father that was there for her turned out to be a murder." Fred said, but he regretted saying that once it came out of his lips.
"You were more of a father to her than Hal." Alice said looking at him.
"Thanks Alice. That means a lot to me." He met her eyes and gave her a small smile. She returned the favor giving him a small smile. Another knock was on her door. She got up and walked over, her bare feet touching the cold floor. She opened it and almost fainted.
"FP..." She said softly.
