Eight rolled around when I started heading to the meeting place. It was the same bar from last night...would I see Eric again?
I felt my face turn red as I pulled open the door, immediately seeing Michel In a booth. We both smiled and waved at each other as I headed over. It was like nothing ever happened. Michel was his same old pervy funny self and I was relaxed and happy...maybe Eric was wrong-
"Alex." Michel called as he put down his beer, licking the foam from his lips as he glanced up at me.
He seemed like he wanted to say something but was struggling, I immediately grew nervous.
"What is it Michel?" I tilted my head.
He opened his mouth, paused, and closed it, repeating this action about three times before he groaned. "How about another beer? Excuse me mis-"
"Michel." I sternly huffed. He was like this yesterday too, it was more laid back that day but extremely similar. It was how I got drunk so fast, he's definitely hiding something. "You want to say something, so just say it"
Michel paused and rubbed his face. "You're right...I do have something to say." He began.
"Then, what is it?" I pushed.
Another silence came over us as he looked down at his beer, taking another drink before he pulled out a crumpled piece of paper.
"Yesterday I wanted to say something...but I didn't know how to bring it up and I didn't think it was appropriate to say something in front of the girls. I still don't know how to bring it up" he began as he un crumbled the paper and looked down at it. Placing it down on the table, he slid it over. "I'm sorry I took it without your permission...I just thought you were acting strange so... wanted to confirm my suspicions."
My eyes looked blankly down at my test...i didn't even realize it was gone.
I stopped breathing, my heart stopped beating, I felt a cold sweat run over my body. My head hung low as I felt like I was going to cry.
"...what happens now?" I choked out, the pain in my voice rising. My best friend...
"Huh? What do you mean-"
"What now?" I shot my head up, the tears falling from my eyes. "You tell everyone? Our friends? My family? You all make fun of me? Make fun of the idiot who thought he was alpha?" I snapped as I grabbed the paper and crumbled it. "So what now?"
My life is ruined. They all know!
"What?" Michel asked in complete shock due to my watering eyes.
"Don't you think this is too far? Even with your teasing?" I whimpered, on the verg of breaking down in tears.
"What??" Michel jumped up from his side of the booth, panic filling him. "No, no! I wasn't going to tell anyone" he frantically scooted out of the seat, wobbling as he stumbled out.
"I just, I just wanted to know, I'm your best friend!" He dived into my booth, his arms wrapping around me. "I'm so sorry I over stepped, I'll never do it again! I knew how bad you wanted to be alpha so when I saw you starting to sweat and panic I got worried." He patted my head repeatedly. "I would never tease you about that, youre my best friend. I'm sorry, I'm sorry" he cried as I started to too.
"This stupid test means nothing." I sobbed as I smashed the paper between my hands, trying to ruin it more.
"You're right! It doesn't!" Michel cried too, grabbing the paper from me and tossing it across the table, still holding on as his snotty nose rubbed all over me.
"Why the hell are you crying?? Shouldn't it only be me??" I questioned as I pushed on his shoulder, grossed out by his ugly crying but also becoming amused.
"B-because you're crying!" Michel sobbed, rubbing his face with his hand, causing me to laugh at his pitiful reactions.
My Michel wasn't who Eric thought he was...Michel was like a dog, a dog who whimpers and feels awful when they accidentally nips someone....
You big old snotty man baby!
"You two are quite the cry babies." A voice chimed in. As we pulled away from each other, I noticed someone extremely familiar...the blonde boy from this morning.
My face immediately lit on fire.
"Heyyy" Michel whined, still wailing and wanting to hold me. "We're having a moment here, back off"
I laughed softly and shoved off Michel. "Go back to you're seat" I glanced towards the blond man. "...Hello again"
He smiled as Michelle scooted out like a kicked puppy who went back to his doghouse. "Hello, I'm sure we never formally introduced ourselves this morning." The blonde man offered out his hand. "I'm milo"
I take the hand and open my mouth to say back the greeting but immediately get taken back as we spoke simultaneously.
"And you're Alex"
"I'm Alex."
Oh yeah...his mind reading this. I nodded as I pulled my hand away.
"And you're Michel." Milo turned towards my best friend who was munching on peanuts.
His eyes widen in surprise. "Woah, how'd you know that freaky dude?"
"I guess I have a neck for it" he responded with a gleam full laugh.
I rolled my eyes, deciding against telling Michel of milos mind reading due to the entertainment value.
"Wanna join us for a beer then?" Michel raised his eyebrow as he gestured to his beer.
"No, I don't think the owner of a bar should sit down for drinks with his customers." Milo declined.
"Oh..you own this place?" I chimed in, curiosity filling me.
"Yes sir." He nodded. "I run it with some help though, from my brothers of course. Eric was here yesterday helping me with some paperwork. He comes in ever so Often-though yesterday I had to kick him out" he closed his eyes as he smiled. "Seemed like he was being too distracted to do work." His eyes opened as they peered down at me.
My face turned red as I looked down
"...sorry" I mumble quietly
"What?" Michel asked, clueless on the situation.
"Nothing!"
"Nothing at all"
