This research, through Hermann Hesse's beautiful novel Siddhartha, attempts to explore the relationship between humans and the natural world, Siddhartha's journey of self-realization to achieve enlightenment along with nature.  Inthis materialistic world where each person is running blindly towards worldlydesires, the novel comes across as a breath of fresh air. The beauty of thisbook manifests itself when it is read in different phases of life. Theunderstanding comes out in different shades depending on the mental picture ofthe reader. The book is narrated by a third person and has direct and indirectquotes of various characters but the focus is on Siddhartha. Hesse in a unique,simple way of writing has delineated an ordinary man's search and journey topeace, salvation and enlightenment. It's important to understand the positive impact ofnature on humans. It focuses on the spiritual aspects. When human beings indulgetheir selves in the beauty of the world and remain away from the serene andcalm environment of the nature they find that there is no satisfaction in the gloriesof the world. They return towards nature to find inner peace and satisfaction. Also the book deals with the transformational aspectspertaining to nature.
