It's been 2 years since Y/N and Ricky broke up. 2 years since Y/N told Ricky how she felt and he rejected her and told her he still had feelings for his ex.
Now Y/N was 20 years old, a collage student and a part time barista at a cafe. Little did she know that in a few hours she would come face to face with the boy who she never got over, her first love, and first heartbreak.
Flashback
"Hey ricky" Y/N said as she laid in his arms, "Yeah" ricky hummed in response. "I love you" Y/N said, she thought he may be ready to hear it, I mean they had been dating for about a year. Ricky's eyes widened, "Oh" he mumbled, "Um Y/N I've been meaning to tell you, that I think I'm still in love with nini" Ricky said, not wanting to face the girl. "What? I tell you I love you and you're telling me you're still in love with her?"Y/N shouted, as she leapt off of his bed and gathered her things. "Sorry It's just that she kissed me and I felt the sparks again" Ricky said, still not looking at her. "Go to hell Ricky Bowen" Y/N said, as she slammed his door shut.
End of flashback
Tonight was open night mic, which meant that people could come up and perform whatever they wanted, it was mostly struggling musicians trying to get their music out into the world. "Next up we have Ricky Bowen" the M.C announced. Y/N's heart dropped, "what is he doing here" she thought to herself, this cafe was not very well known among people, so it was odd he was here.
"Hello everybody, today I will be singing a song I wrote when I was 18, it was for the girl whose heart I broke" Ricky said, then looked up at you, the girl just rolled her eyes at him and then turned to do something else.
Ricky started to sing, and at first Y/N paid no mind to him, that was until he sang this.
"I have loved you since we were 18, Long before we both thought the same thing"
This caused Y/N to turn around and face him, with tears in her eyes. He was talking about her, they broke up just before her 19th birthday, so it couldn't be about nini. "What the actual fuck" Y/N mumbled to herself, soon the song was done and everyone cheered.
But Y/N was already out the door, because she couldn't stand to face him, that was until a familiar voice called out to her. "Y/N" Ricky shouted, as he caught up with the girl, "What do you want Ricky?" she said, wiping tears from her face.
"I meant what I said when I sang" he said to the distressed girl, "Yeah well it's a little late for that" she scoffed, then turned back around and started to walk away.
"Look, I'm sorry, that day in my room when you told me you loved me I didn't know what to do, I thought I still was in love with nini, but then we dated briefly and I realized the whole time, that all I could think about was you, it's always been you" Ricky said, tears starting to form in his eyes. "Look Ricky, I forgive you I guess, I've never stopped thinking about you either" she responded, finally facing him again. "I love you" Ricky whispered, as he stepped closer to her, "I love you too" Y/N said, as she closed the gap between them.
