Chapter 4: The Glitch pt. 1

Kitty's P.O.V

Once catching up with Mitch, Five pulls up right in front of the car. Making Mitch hit the breaks and lose his pasta on the windshield. "Hey champ, we need to talk." Five said. "What the? I remember you." Mitch said.

"And we remember you." Miko said. "Im going to be honest, I'm surprised I forgot about meeting you in the first place." I said as I popped beside my brother. "You stole my win, uh apparently." Five said hesitantly. "How can you know about that? I reset you myself!" He said as he hopped out of his car. I lean against my handle bars, trying hard to restrain from swooning. "Every body resets!" He said aiming his gauntlet at us, beaming us. But Miko got in front of it. The beam didn't work on her.

"Is zapping people your solution to everything? Pretty sad if you ask me. Especially since a tool like that could be used to help people." Miko said as she approached Mitch. I could see him tamper with his gauntlet. As he was distracted I made my way around the car. "Instead of cheating." Miko said as the beam failed again.

"Everybody resets!" He tried a higher power level but it didn't work again. "You live to play the hero. But really you are just some bully." She said getting closer to him. "I'll wipe you clean!" Mitch said putting at the highest level. I then tackle Mitch. He struggles but I was able to keep him down. I didn't even realize I was touching his gauntlet. His face grows worried and he tried to get his arm out of my grasp. "Let go! Kit seriously! You don't know what this thing can do." He said in a worried tone. I was able to pin him down but a green thing comes out of his gauntlet.

We gasp as we see it go all over the place. All of a sudden Mitch shoves me off him. Causing me to fall back on the road. "Got it under control, don't send back up." Mitch said to his communicator as he aims his gauntlet. Then I see a green thing makes its way into the arcade. "Oh boosh!" He said in irritation. "I'm done playing with you whack-a-moles." Mitch said as he tampered with his gauntlet. All of a sudden a vortex portal pops below us. Causing us to fall. All of a sudden we are inside Mitch's van.

"This is a serious Mitchuation. I can't have you morons make it any worst!" Mitch said as he opens the back door to yell at us. Him saying mitchuation made me swoon a bit. "I used to look up to you. I don't even know who you are! And you hurt my sister!" Five said. "That's her fault for having her clumsy self tackle me. And I'll tell you who I am. I'm the guy who's gunna send you two back to the alley way you crawled from. And this time you are going to stay where you belong." He said with a hard look, shutting the door. Causing the security system to activate.

Miko was trying to open the door. I was leaned against the seat as I sat on the ground curled up. And Five was pacing around. I wince as my wrist pang with pain. Thinking how stupid I probably looked, wallowing in self shame and pity.

"There's gotta be something we can use in here." Miko said. "This is out of control. The kid has stuff that opens portals and erase memories! Who knows what else he made us forget? Family members? Pets? What if we already got out of here but he made us forget we did, so now we think we're still in here? What if we've always been in here?" Five said as he panicked. I seen Miko look at me huddled on the ground. "You might be overthinking it." She said as she passed pancaking Five.

"Hey Kit. Don't take it to heart what he said." Miko said. "Yeah I know." I said quietly. "How could you still like that sand worm?" Miko said as she looked around for something to let us out. "I...I don't know. I can't help it." I said. "Well, don't let him get to you. Regardless on what you feel about him, just know that you don't need him! You are strong and generous, and a great player I might add. You are much more of a gamer than Mitch Williams. And if I were paying attention during the tournament, I bet you would of won." She said. I smile and nod as a thank you. Getting up, giving her a quick hug and helping her find some way out.

"I'd there's anything I know about Mitch, is his playing style. He liked to psyche people out." I said as I looked at the front seat for something. I hop in the drivers seat, inspecting the buttons and pressing a few. "I bet there isn't even a security system in here." I accidentally push a button causing lasers to pop out. One almost hitting five but cutting his floof of hair. He screams is horror as his floof falls flat. "Well now we know." Miko said. I push the button again and decided to keep looking at the dash as Miko made her way to the wall of the van.

She pushes a button on the wall and out pops a device with a big red button. "Check it out guys! A big red button! The mother of all buttons!" Miko said with excitement. "Will you stop messing around? From the moment my sister and I met you, you've just made everything worst." Five said. "Five come on. It's not all bad." I said trying to calm him down. "You are literally injured because we got into this mess." He said. To be honest it was just a cramped wrist because I fought myself with my wrist all weird when falling.

"You know what your problem is? You think too much." Miko said as she gave Five an orange wrist band. And it had his gamer tag on it. "Where did you..." Five said. "He must of tossed it in here." Miko said. I look around and there I see mine hanging on the rear view mirror, " huh odd why is it there?" I said as I seen it had my gamer tag on it. I then get a wave flow through me. I remember everything!

From the time the van left the ally, us joining the game, meeting Mitch, and watching Five win, and when Mitch zapped me and Five. Then something hit me in realization.

"I did beat Mitch Williams." Five said. "M-Mitch...he...MITCH KISSED MY CHEEK." I said, getting ready to feint. I was a blushing mess. "What?!?" Five and Miko said. I was too stunned to answer and then I shook it off. "He kisses my cheek after he zapped me and Five, saying thanks for the competition." I said nervously, confused as to why he would do that. "Give me that.." Five said to Miko as he held the device and hit the button. "It then started to count down and fly about. Making us back up. "Please don't blow up." Five said worryingly. It then turned on, it was a cute robot.

"Welcome cadet. I am BITT. A Binary Intelligence Tech Trainer. Self hung for updates. None found." It said in a cute robot voice. "Hey maybe he can help us out of the van." Five said. "I'm sorry but my services are for exclusive use of Glitch Tech recruits. I also dispense food and beverages." BITT said. "Fresher baked muffins? Mmm."

"So cute!" I said as I hugged BITT. "What's a glitch tech?" Five asked. "Citizens employed by Hinobi for the purpose of detecting and capturing glitch entities." BITT said. "Oh that's us alright." Miko said as she ran to the side to check out the gear. "New trainees reporting for duty. Right Five and Kit?" Miko said as she tossed us some headsets. "Uh yeah! We are trainees employed by Hinobi for the purposes of what ever the purpose is." Five said as he our on the headphones and I following suit. 

BITT then formed arms and went to grab something. "Very well. Simply connect these Glitch gauntlets and choose start to begin!" He said tossing us gauntlets. We put it on and clicked start. The gauntlet starts to power up.

All of a sudden we are attacked with gear that had the Hinobi logo on it. Looking all high tech. "It's got some kind of UI! Like a radar, a mini map and...targeting crosshairs?" Five said. "Move your wrist up and down and side to side. This is known as your targeting area." BITT said. We did as he instructed, "Oh I am loving this." Miko said.
